After a challenging 12 weeks of studying every weekend, I've successfully completed the Certificate in Strategy Ex*****on at Harvard Business School online. Thanks to my partner Sarah Milne for putting up with me!
This marks the second step in my pursuit of a Certificate of Specialisation in Strategy, a goal I will achieve by the end of June 2024. I have one more certificate to obtain and I have selected to study Sustainability Business Strategy. Looking forward to learning more about this very important subject and its application within Global and NZ businesses.

They say you can't teach old dogs new tricks, but I'm thrilled to prove them wrong! I'm delighted to share that I've successfully completed the Certificate in Business Strategy at Harvard Business School Online, guided by the brilliant Professor Felix Oberholzer-Gee.
Having graduated with a Degree in Business Management from Massey University in the late '80s, it was time to update my skills and embrace the evolving landscape of business, leadership, and strategy. The course has been a transformative journey, shedding light on new approaches and
methodologies that are indispensable in today's dynamic business environment.
This marks the first step in my pursuit of a Certificate of Specialisation in Strategy, a goal I will achieve by the end of 2024. The roadmap includes additional certificates in Strategy Ex*****on and Sustainability Business Strategy, each adding another layer to my 40 years of practical business management expertise.
I'm eager to apply these newfound insights to my role as a Certified Business Advisor, with the BSP Advisory Group and I'm excited to collaborate with my clients, leveraging this new knowledge to elevate their organisations' strategic direction and enhance their competitive advantage in their respective markets.

Continuous learning is the cornerstone of growth, and I'm committed to staying ahead of the curve. Here's to embracing change, embracing knowledge, and embracing the journey towards excellence!

As Business Advisors we support our clients in navigating the ever-changing landscape of business. Let’s remember to prioritise something absolutely crucial - your staff’s well-being.
These discussions aren’t always easy to have, however, in the long term they will benefit not only your team members’ well-being but also your business.
1. Listen with empathy - encourage your team to air their concerns and challenges without fear of judgment, and together come up with a supportive plan going forward.
2. Break the stigma - mental health matters, and it’s okay to talk about it openly. Create a workplace culture that promotes mental health awareness.
3. Offer supportive resources - i.e. workshops or counselling services. Small steps can make a big difference. Help your team recognise signs of distress and respond appropriately,.
4. Encourage work-life balance. Encourage your team to set and work reasonable hours and ensure they’re taking their due time off for rest and rejuvenation.,
5. Lead by example. Business owners play a significant role in driving change. Lead by example, and empower your team.
Remember, a workforce that feels valued and supported is a more productive and engaged one.

Set up a payment plan to tackle GST or TAX debt.
Paying tax in one lump sum isn’t always easy. Instead, you can set up an instalment arrangement to spread your bill over smaller weekly or fortnightly repayments. There is no fee to set this up, and you won’t be charged penalties and interest.
You can set up an instalment arrangement in myIR under the Payment section. Simply head to myIR, click on ‘I want to…’ then ‘Payments’.
Don’t lose sleep about where you’ll find money to pay GST or TAX - talk to your Business Advisor, Accountant, or IRD - there are ways to tackle the debt, sometimes it's just talking to someone about it and coming up with a way that suits your business.

Paul Boyack leads the BSP Advisory Group team in the Greater Wellington region.
A keen horseman, Paul was fortunate to ride in the USA for 3 years prior to joining the BSP Advisory Group.
Sitting atop ‘Bettin on Aces’, or May as Paul called her, May is a 4-year-old Missouri Fox trotter.
Paul has been riding trail horses for about 15 years, purchasing May in Missouri and travelling across many of the states in America with her, including Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
In this photo, Paul is about to embark on a day-long ride along a small part of the Trail of Tears in the Mark Twain Natural Forest in Missouri., which harbours a tragic and significant chapter of American history. (To find out more: https://www.britannica.com/event/Trail-of-Tears)
