An opportunity currently exists for an experienced QA/QC Supervisor to join our team at Smiths Meats Based in Papamoa
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Routine QC testing
• Able to read testing results
• Working alongside the Company Compliance Consultant to review and refresh the sites CFCP, and ensure all compliance tasks are completed.
• Calibration of equipment
• Assisting in managing customer complaints including investigation of the root cause of non-conformity of in-coming materials, in-process products and finished products
• Investigating out of specification results, including packaging, raw materials, finished products or environmental results
• Filing and maintaining production records
• Overseeing and Carrying out General housekeeping duties within the facility
• Conducting and participating in internal and external audits
Skills & experience:
To be successful for this role, you will possess the following:
• 1-2 years' worth of experience as a QA/QC Officer within a food manufacturing Organisation
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and time management skills

We are advising the public to return Pestell's Rai Bacon Company Ltd ham products distributed to selected supermarkets and other retailers nationwide, as they may contain Listeria monocytogenes.

The affected packaged ham products are Pestell’s Ch*****ne Ham, Pestell's Cooked Ham on the bone, Pestell’s Boneless Ham, Pestell’s Boneless Ham pieces and Pestell’s Sliced Ham Off the Bone. These products are sold in selected supermarkets and other retailers nationwide, except Countdown stores.

In addition, all Pestell’s Sliced Ham served over the counter at selected supermarket delicatessens with a use by date up to and including 7.12.20 are affected. Affected products are sold at New World, Pak’NSave and Four Square supermarkets in the South Island.

Customers should return the products to stores for a full refund. Alternatively cooking thoroughly will ensure the products are safe. For large hams this means an internal temperature of 75 degrees Celsius.
