And the results are in ladies and gentlemen for our first wiltshire kill off mum.
Sorry for the delay, we've been flat out shearing the damn romneys 😒
Anywho, 18.6kg is the average. Pleasantly happy with this result.
The best part was there were only 5 that required a minimal dagg.
We're all weaned now and looking forward to the next kill

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Bit of an update on how everything's progressing. Sorry things have been quiet, we've mainly been chasing romneys and on holiday fishing 😅

Anyway, just before Xmas curiosity got the better of us so we got the wiltys in for a count.

•135% to the ram which was good considering the season.
(In comparison our Romney mixed age excluding 2ths docked 128%)

The wiltys are shedding well with the warmer weather now. 98% of lambs are clean which is great for the upcoming lamb draft.

Yesterday, we weighed the ram lambs off mum at 36kg plus. No records set here sadly but again our spring/ summer has been disappointing.

We'll be in touch regarding their kill weights/ yield.

Welcome to Mount Butters Wiltshires

These are ex Glenbrae genetics. A real credit to the previous owner. They shed very minimal and are big bold sheep.

They have been farmed alongside our traditional Romney flock and have performed very well. There has been a huge saving in wool related costs along with many man hours.
