Just last week I sat in on some Health and Safety training, the intention was for the course attendees to update their knowledge of the HSWA and to refresh their understanding of H&S. By the way the trainees work in a very high risk industry and have plenty of experience with H&S as it is.
Unfortunately the training fell short of expectations. Instead of improving knowledge in an engaging way it became the torture of wordy powerpoint slides and the frustration of repetitive senseless writing, harsh but true. The end result, people sick to death of hearing about H&S and very little valuable learning to take away. My thoughts....bad training is worse than no training at all.
