💡 Introducing MultiMerchant on Feitian & EFTPOS One!

What if one single terminal could serve up to 8 unique businesses - each with their own account, settings, and reporting? That’s exactly what MultiMerchant does, powered by EFTPOS Central and the Worldline network.

Why it’s a game-changer:
✅ Perfect for collaborative spaces - split the cost of a terminal across multiple businesses.
✅ Each merchant has their own settlement, prompts, surcharges, and choice of payment types (EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPlus, Centrapay, etc.).
✅ Switching between merchants is as simple as tapping their name on screen.

Where this works beautifully:
🏥 Medical centres – multiple practitioners sharing a clinic space.
🏪 Community stores & co-ops – several sellers under one roof.
🎗️ Charity initiatives – allow donations to go directly to the chosen charity.
🎨 Shared studios – art, photography, or craft spaces where multiple creators sell.
💆 Wellness & personal services hubs – massage therapists, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, hairdressers or counselors sharing one space.
🎟️ Events & pop-ups – festivals, markets, or expos where multiple vendors sell from the same terminal.

MultiMerchant isn’t just smart tech - it’s smart business. It reduces cost, simplifies reporting, and makes collaborative spaces more practical than ever.

Wishing you prosperity for the Year ahead as we celebrate Lunar New Year 2026 🧧🐉

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible diversity of businesses and communities across New Zealand. From bustling hospitality venues and specialty retailers, to charities, schools, and independent operators; the Lunar New Year reminds us that commerce is global, connection is powerful, and opportunity belongs to those ready to embrace it.

At EFTPOS Central, and through EFTPOS One, we are proud to support an open payments ecosystem that reflects the way customers actually choose to pay.

That means:

✨ Traditional card payments
✨ International digital wallets
✨ Chinese payment methods including AliPay and WeChat Pay
✨ Dynamic Currency Conversion for international visitors to New Zealand
✨Emerging account-to-account solutions and Open Banking Apps
✨ On-device Point of Sale
✨ And partnerships with innovative providers who help merchants stay ahead

We believe New Zealand merchants should have choice. We believe small businesses deserve access to the same technology as the big players. And we believe prosperity grows when ecosystems stay open.

As we step into the new lunar year, we wish our merchants, partners, and communities health, success, and continued growth.

🧧✨ Happy Lunar New Year from the team at EFTPOS Central.

❤️ This Valentine’s Day… don’t settle for a bad payments relationship.

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
If your EFTPOS feels toxic…
You know what to do. 😉

This Valentine’s Day, let’s be honest about your current payments relationship:

❌ Unexpected fees
❌Long contracts you didn’t mean to commit to or buried in T's and C's
❌ “It’s not you, it’s policy” energy
❌ Support that only calls when it’s time to invoice

Sound familiar?

Maybe it’s time to upgrade to a partner that actually shows up. EFTPOS One from EFTPOS Central is:

❤️ No setup fees
❤️ Simple $35 +GST monthly subscription
❤️ Local NZ-owned support
❤️ Overnight settlements (even weekends & public holidays)
❤️ No network fees
❤️ An open ecosystem of payment options

No games.
No hidden surprises.
No corporate ghosting.
Just reliable, consistent, drama-free payments.

This year, choose the EFTPOS that treats you right. Because your business deserves a better Valentine. 💕

🚀 We’re excited to announce a big milestone for EFTPOS Central; our first on-device POS has been certified!

Today we get to go live with our first on-device Point of Sale solution, with POS Anywhere now certified on Feitian hardware – brought to New Zealand exclusively by Eftpos Central on the Worldline Network.

This means merchants can now run their POS & Payments on a single device - no cash registers, no extra POS hardware, and no complicated setups. Just a clean, modern solution built for how Kiwi businesses operate today.

For as little as $49 per month, merchants can get everything EFTPOS One offers, including:

✔️ Android-based PCI 6.x EFTPOS terminal
✔️ Integrated merchant facility with no network fees
✔️ 4G SIM and connectivity included
✔️ Support for all major payment types
✔️ Local setup, service, and support
✔️ PLUS an on-device Point of Sale powered by POSAnywhere

With certification across both on-device and off-device payments, existing POSAnywhere merchants can now upgrade to a more reliable, future-ready payment solution, while new merchants get an all-in-one POS and EFTPOS experience from day one as an EFTPOS One add-on.

This partnership brings together EFTPOS Central’s payments expertise and POSAnywhere’s flexible POS platform - delivering exactly what small and growing New Zealand businesses have been asking for.

🚨 Let’s clear up some confusion around card surcharges and merchant fees 🚨

There are two VERY different things being talked about right now, and they’re getting mixed up.

1️⃣ Surcharges (what customers see at the checkout)

The Government is looking into legislation that could ban or limit card surcharges being passed on to customers.
👉 This is still under review. Nothing has been passed yet.

2️⃣ Merchant service fees (what merchants pay)

This is not being banned. The Commerce Commission recently imposed caps on the interchange component of those fees.

There will always be costs for businesses to accept Credit Cards and contactless (payWave, Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.).

These fees come from card schemes, banks, and payment networks - not from surcharging rules.

💡 Important takeaway:

Even if surcharges are restricted or removed, the cost of accepting cards does not disappear. It just has to be managed differently by the business.

This is why:

▶ Understanding your merchant pricing
▶ Reviewing your payment mix
▶ Having the right payment setup

…matters more than ever and why merchants are choosing solutions like EFTPOS One; simple, easy, with no payment network fees and here supporting Kiwi businesses!

💳 Are merchant fees really “just a cost”, something businesses and consumers get "fleeced by"… or are we forgetting the value they create?

The cost of acceptance is real: whether its cash, traditional card payments or even Open Banking solutions. It's important to step back and have an honest conversation about cost vs value vs expectation.

We recently worked with a small sports club that lost tens of thousands of dollars hosting a week-long sporting event for the local community - not because attendance was low, but because in an effort to "stand up to the Banks and prove a point" they chose to only accept EFTPOS when 90% of the attendees were from overseas 😳

In this blog, we unpack:

🟢 What really happens when businesses try to avoid merchant fees at all costs,
🟢 Why consumers are protected when they pay by card - and exposed when they don’t and
🟢 how reducing payment costs to the extreme can quietly remove the value we all rely on and expect.

This isn’t a defence of high fees - it's an open conversation around cost vs value vs expectation

A real-world story shows how a small sports club lost tens of thousands in revenue by avoiding card fees and limiting payment options. The piece unpacks what merchant service fees actually fund, from consumer protections to global acceptance, and why removing them comes with hidden trade-offs.

🚀 We’re back into it for 2026!

It’s not just about shiny new EFTPOS terminals - it’s about real compliance mandates and technology changes that have been on the radar for years. PCI 4.x deadline, 3G network shutdowns, and ageing terminals mean merchants who haven’t planned risk downtime, lost sales, and last-minute headaches.

At EFTPOS Central, we cut through the mumbo-jumbo, make compliance simple, and help you choose the right solution - from traditional EFTPOS payments to Open Banking solutions like Payap by BNZ - so your payments just keep working.

New Zealand businesses are facing critical EFTPOS changes, including a mandatory PCI 4.x terminal sunset on 30 April 2026 and the nationwide phase-out of 3G networks. This article explains what these changes mean, the risks of delaying action, and how EFTPOS Central helps merchants upgrade with clar...

🎄 Christmas & New Year Office Closure – EFTPOS Central 🎄

As we wrap up the year, we’d like to let our merchants and partners know that the EFTPOS Central Office and Showroom will be:

🕔 Closing: 5:00pm, Tuesday 23 December 2025
🕣 Re-opening: 8:30am, Monday 5 January 2026

During this period, our team will be taking a well-earned break. That said, we know payments don’t always take holidays - so urgent technical support will still be available via our on-call team for critical issues.

📞 Urgent faults: 06 357 4598
📧 General enquiries will be responded to once we return in January.

Thank you to all our merchants and partners for your support, patience, and collaboration throughout 2025. It’s been a big year, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger 2026.

From all of us at EFTPOS Central -
🎄 Merry Christmas, stay safe, and see you in the New Year!

EFTPOS Central Group is excited to announce that Centrapay and Payap are now fully certified and supported on our Feitian Android EFTPOS terminals.

As the exclusive technology partner for Feitian in New Zealand, we’re committed to ensuring merchants have access to modern, flexible, and cost-effective ways to get paid. With centrapay built on Open Banking, Kiwi businesses now have a new payment option that reduces acceptance costs and fits naturally into the way customers increasingly choose to pay. Merchants will be able to accept payments from customers through the likes of BNZ's Payap.

Our first cohort of EFTPOS One merchants will have Centrapay enabled shortly, with wider availability rolling out across the EFTPOS Central Group.

This is another step in our mission to help merchants succeed - supporting both the new (A2A, QR, wallet payments) and the familiar (EFTPOS, payWave, Credit).

A huge thank you to our development teams and to the team at Centrapay for making this possible.

The future of payments is changing, and we’re here to help Kiwi businesses stay ahead.

New ways to pay are taking off in New Zealand - and we’re right in the middle of it!

Over the last few months, we’ve seen a surge of interest from Kiwi businesses wanting to modernise how they take payments. Worldline Tap on Mobile is quickly becoming a standout option: simple, secure, and perfect for merchants who want to accept contactless payments using hardware they already own. No terminal required.

At the same time, we’re seeing strong momentum with DirectPay; Worldline’s account-to-account payment method built on Open Banking API's. As "free" EFTPOS use continues to dwindle; smart merchants are getting ready to accept and adapt to more modern, secure and dynamic forms of acceptance.

For us, this growth isn’t just exciting - it’s a clear sign that Aotearoa is ready for practical payment innovation. Consumers are embracing digital wallets and alternative payment methods.

At EFTPOS Central, we’re proud to support these emerging technologies and help bring them to everyday Kiwi businesses - from sole traders through to established retailers. The payments landscape is changing quickly, but the goal remains the same: give merchants more choice, more value, and more control over their acceptance costs.

If you’d like to understand how Tap on Mobile or DirectPay could work for your business, we’re always keen to chat.
