Another great weekend for Hey's Race Team in the car with a 3rd, 2nd and two wins for the night at Oceanview Speedway 🏁

We were also stoked to watch Brendon and Jayden Tye in their LRC at Wellington Speedway on Sunday!

It’s a new season and the 992 Stockcar is back out!

Our mate Lucas will be piloting the car for the season as 13v and we will be along with them for the ride.

To top off the car getting back out after that crash, Lucas came away with the win for the first race of the season 🏁🏁

An update on Taylor. He has come home 🏁

After 3 months he is finally well enough to move home and continue his recovery from here. It’s still a long road for him, but he has improved significantly since the accident!

Thank you for those who have shown their support and have kept Taylor in their thoughts. Not one bit has gone unnoticed. A scary outcome for everyone involved that night, in the sport we have so much love and passion for, but we are grateful he pulled through it all and is home now. 🧡🖤

Taylor’s Update 🫶🏼 (Sensitive Photos)

It’s been a long and emotional four weeks since the crash. Taylor is doing well and he wanted to share a bit of what the last few weeks have looked like, even though some of it might look a little scary. He is incredibly lucky.

Everything’s a bit of a blur for him right now. He’s missing a couple of weeks from when he was in ICU and unconscious and the days before, but he wants to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported him and our family during this time. We are both incredibly grateful.

Today we found out he has lots of micro haemorrhages all over his brain, so we are all counting our lucky stars he’s here.

He’s come such a long way, especially over the past week. Right now, he’s at a specialist brain injury rehab center in Auckland, where he’ll stay for a while until he’s strong enough to come home and continue his recovery here. Then, in his words, he can “start building some stockcars” 🏁

This will be the last update for a while on Taylor till he can do it himself as there’s not much more to say for now.

He is now in Auckland at a brain injury rehabilitation centre getting the specialist care he needs. He can talk, and move around, and is starting to be able to do some things for himself, but there’s still a lot to work through.
Hopefully he will be as determined as he is with racing and be home soon 🏁
