💸 I want to share something I see more than I'd like.

Homeowners who put off a moss or gutter clean for a season or two — totally understandable, life gets busy — and then face a much bigger bill later.

Blocked gutters → water tracking under rooflines → timber rot → joinery replacement.
Unchecked moss → surface degradation → repainting or recladding.

A professional exterior clean is $150–$400 depending on the size and job. The repairs that come from ignoring it? Often $1,500–$5,000+.

🌿 Seeing green or black patches on your roof? Here's a quick explainer for Bay of Plenty homeowners.

That colouring is almost always lichen, moss or algae. In our climate — warm, humid, with decent rainfall — it's extremely common. It's not a sign of a bad roof, just a roof that needs attention.

Why does it matter?
→ Lichen holds moisture against roofing material
