Tania thought E stood for Enough. Enough petrol to get to the next station, that is.

The fuel light had been on for a while, but Tania was confident she could squeeze a few more kilometres out of the tank.

Turns out, E actually stands for EMPTY. And Tania's car decided to remind her of that halfway to the petrol station.

Running out of petrol doesn't have to ruin your day. DVR Towing can come to your rescue with a fuel top-up to get you moving again.

Phone us 24/7 on 07 578 3571 across Tauranga and surrounding areas any time you need us.

Be honest, how low have you let your fuel gauge get before filling up?

"We're somewhere between Tauranga and Rotorua…"

That's a pretty big area to search when we're trying to find you and help you out.

If you've broken down somewhere unfamiliar, being able to share your exact location can make a big difference to how quickly help reaches you.

Here's a handy trick worth knowing BEFORE you need it. You can send us your location straight from Google Maps, even if you have no idea what road you're on.

How to share your location:

1️⃣ Open Google Maps on your phone.
2️⃣ Look for the blue dot showing where you are.
3️⃣ Tap the blue dot and select Share location (or press and hold your position on the map to drop a pin).
4️⃣ Share the location link or dropped pin with us via text.

That's it! We can see exactly where you are instead of trying to work out which bend in the road you're parked near.

A couple of extra tips:
✔️ Make sure your phone's location services are switched on.
✔️ If you're on a busy road, get yourself somewhere safe before worrying about your phone.
✔️ If you have poor reception, look for road signs, landmarks or kilometre markers that could help us find you.

And remember, if you find yourself stranded anywhere around Tauranga or the wider Bay of Plenty, DVR Towing is available 24/7 to help get you moving again.

Don't be like Bob*. That warning light isn't decoration!

Monday: A warning light appears on Bob's dashboard. "She'll be right," thinks Bob.
Tuesday: Light's still on. Bob turns the radio up.
Wednesday: Bob's on the side of the road waiting for us to tow him.

Don't be like Bob!

Dashboard warning lights are your car's way of telling you something needs attention. Ignoring them could turn a small problem into an expensive repair, or even leave you stranded.

If you do end up stranded like Bob, DVR Towing is available 24/7 across Tauranga and surrounding areas to help get you and your vehicle to safety.

What’s the ONE thing you always keep in your car because, at some point, it’s saved the day?

Spring is a good time to give your car a bit of a clean-out and make sure your roadside essentials are still there.

Here’s what your breakdown kit might include:

🟢 Torch
🟢 Phone charging cable or power bank
🟢 Bottle of water
🟢 Warm jacket or blanket
🟢 Umbrella
🟢 First aid kit
🟢 Hi-vis vest
🟢 Basic tools
🟢 Tyre inflator or pressure gauge
🟢 A snack that won’t melt in the glovebox
🟢 And the number for DVR Towing saved in your phone!

You never know which one will come in handy.

And remember, if your roadside kit isn’t enough to get you moving again, DVR Towing is available 24/7 around Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty.

Your car suddenly makes a noise you’ve NEVER heard before… what do you do first?

🟢 Turn the music down and listen VERY carefully
🟢 Google “weird clunking noise from car”
🟢 Call someone who knows more about cars than you do
🟢 Turn the music UP and pretend you heard absolutely nothing

Be honest... which one are you?

If that mystery noise turns into a car that’s not going anywhere, DVR Towing is available 24/7 to come to the rescue.

Save our number now, you never know when you might need us.

Can you guess what one of the most common reasons we get called out is?

Flat batteries.

And the frustrating thing is most of them give you a warning first. If your car is slow to start in the mornings, or you’re hearing that sluggish crank when you try to start your car, don’t brush it off. That’s your battery telling you it’s on the way out.

What might seem like a small issue now can quickly turn into a no-start situation when you least expect it. A quick battery check or replacement now is a whole lot easier (and cheaper) than being stuck in a car park, your driveway, or worse… on the side of the road.

And if you do get caught out, we are here 24/7 to help get you back up and running.

There’s never a good time for your car to break down… but some times are definitely worse than others.

Maybe you were heading to a wedding, catching a flight, off on holiday, driving to a job interview, or halfway through the Christmas road trip when your car decided, “Nope, not today.”

We’d love to hear your story. Where were you heading when your car broke down at the absolute WORST possible time?

Tell us in the comments. We’re guessing there are some good ones out there!

You’re stranded, your car won’t go... and your phone is on 2%.

You’ve probably got time for ONE call before that screen goes black.

Who are you calling first?

📞 Your partner
📞 Mum or Dad
📞 That one mate who always comes to the rescue
📞 Or straight to DVR Towing?

Choose wisely... that 2% isn’t going to last long. 😅

And if you do choose us, we’re available 24/7 to help get you and your vehicle sorted. So, who gets your one call?
