Kode Biotech Limited is a private company established in 1996 to commercialise and license Kode™ Technology. In 2009 a second separate company was formed, Kode Biotech Materials Ltd. Kode Biotech Ltd is the licensor of existing, and developer of new Kode™ Technology. Kode Biotech Materials Ltd is an authorized supplier of Kode™ FSL constructs and operates under quality standards. Kode™ Technology

provides a platform for rapid modification of virtually any surface with any functional molecule. What was previously hard and often impossible to achieve is now quick and easy with Kode™ Technology. Whether you are working with cells, viruses, bacteria, organisms, liposomes or synthetic surfaces Kode™ will be the fastest and most replicable way of functionalizing or modifying them. Kode™ has the broadest application of any technology for modifying biosurfaces. No special equipment or processes are required with Kode™ Technology as modification happens spontaneously on contact without affecting vitality or functionality. Rapid biosurface modification offers significant opportunities for innovation and product improvement in virtually every area of the life sciences. Kode™ Technology has already been licensed to several large companies, and an example of a product incorporating Kode™ Technology that is already in the market is Securacell™ Kode Biotech Ltd, and Kode Biotech Materials Ltd, are independent companies, both sited on the AUT University City campus and have forged a strong symbiotic relationship with AUT's Centre for Kode Technology Innovation (KTI).

The Kode Story

Kode Biotech had its origins in 15 years of academic research by its founder Professor Steve Henry who was studying a natural blood group molecule with the ability to label cell surfaces. A company was established on the campus of AUT University where the company still resides today – whilst maintaining ownership of intellectual property.

In 2001 the first generation Kode™ Technology construct was invented.

From the beginning it was realized that Kode™ Technology was unique and had huge potential so the commercial strategy to become a licensor of the technology was adopted. Recently 2nd and 3rd generation Kode™ constructs have been invented and several significant high value licensed and prototype products are now coming into fruition, including a potential cancer therapy which entered into human clinical trials in August 2018.

With a small team, an established global network, a well protected strategic IP portfolio and a focus on commercialization we are now looking to further accelerate the commercial up take of Kode™ Technology to realize the full potential of the company.
