Do you have a checklist ready so you don't overlook anything?
A few items I have on my list are:
Cancel the papers; Check insurances are up to date; ask a neighbour to keep the letterbox clear; move any valuables from the sight of the windows; stop the ringtone on your phone.
What are some things do you do before you leave home to go on holiday?

Great Tip!
When sorting out new recipes that I want to try before they go into 'my favourites' recipe book, I put them into a magazine file. This keeps them contained in one place, and easy to locate.

This time last Monday, I was at my fathers funeral. He was 98 years old and had suffered a stroke two weeks earlier that had left him blind and without the use of one leg. This mean't he had to be moved from the resthome where he enjoyed an independent and comfortable life, into the hospital as he now required 24 hour care. His anxiety and stress of being in a new place, one he couldn't envisage; and being immobile was a terrible thing to witness. Worst of all, there was nothing I could do to help him, apart from sitting with him and thinking of comforting things to say. He held my hands tightly and would repeatedly say how lovely it was to have me there. Dad suffered a second stroke 12 days ago which brought him to the end of his journey and I was grateful that he didn't linger. The next day was spent making the funeral arrangements, and fortunately I had at hand all of the documents that you need at times like this.
It made me wonder how other people organise their important documents, and would your family or friends know where to look for them if you weren't there?

Today's post is a before photo of a small bathroom that also has the laundry in it. Watch this space as you are going to see an unbelieveable transformation. Just goes to show what can be done with limited space. My client is thrilled to bits with the result.
