❄️ Noticed your hot water is cold at night in Wānaka and Queenstown?

Some properties have recently experienced short, unexpected hot water interruptions during the evening. This can sometimes happen during peak winter demand when the network is being managed.

If it happens, here’s a quick check:
✔️ See if neighbours are affected too
✔️ Check your hot water system is still on
✔️ If everything looks normal, it’s likely a network issue and usually short-lived
✔️ Contact your power provider if it continues

For hosts and property managers, it can help to have a simple message ready for guests so they know it’s likely network-related.

For homes with solar and battery storage, these moments can often be less noticeable thanks to that added layer of backup.

After 4 and a half incredible years, we’re saying goodbye to our mate Tim as he moves on from Queenstown Solar.

From day one, Tim has been a huge part of the team. Not just for the hard work he put in on every job, but for the attitude he brought with him every single day and the positivity he brought to us all.

He’s helped power hundreds of homes and businesses across the region, and played a big role in shaping what Queenstown Solar is today.

Breaking News for Powerwall 2 Owners

Tesla has announced that Powerwall 3 will soon be able to operate alongside existing Powerwall 2 systems through a future software update.

For homeowners with Powerwall 2, this is a significant step forward. It means existing battery systems may soon be able to expand with the latest Powerwall technology rather than replacing what you already have.

2025 was a massive one for Think Solar Group! So many changes across the industry, new ideas, technologies and things to learn. We've met a ton of new people, tackled some tricky installs, and most importantly, had a lot of fun doing so.
