Kawarau Construction is looking for an experienced excavator operator to join our team in Queenstown.

This is a full-time position working across a good variety of civil construction projects, including earthworks, drainage, roading and subdivisions.

About you -

Experienced and confident operating excavators
Finishing works and drainage experience required
Comfortable working around services and drainage crews
Reliable, motivated and punctual
Takes pride in your work and looks after the gear
Works well as part of a small team
GPS machine-control experience would be a bonus

Tight site, plenty going on!

Great to be working alongside Faulks Investments Ltd on the new Radisson Hotel Queenstown project, carrying out the drainage and backfill works. Fair to say everyone can appreciate just how tight this site is.

Jumped in Wilson Contractors’ 140M grader for the last couple of weeks of the roading season, helping out on the Hunter Road subdivision project.
Completed 500m of roading including subgrade prep, 250mm AP65 and 100mm AP40 ahead of final two-coat chip seal.
Good to get stuck into some clean road formation work for a change — no manholes, kerbs or trenches to work around, just tidy shaping and smooth running from start to finish.
Great project to be involved with in an unreal part of the country.
