A stunning capture by Samuel Hartnett of a project we were proud to be involved with.

Led by our Senior QS, Sam Taylor, QUBE's involvement began during the early tendering stages and evolved into full contract administration throughout the build. Our role included processing monthly payment claims, managing variations, and assisting with the agreement of the final account.

Great projects are never the work of one team alone. It was fantastic to work alongside Elevate Construction and the entire project team to bring this build to completion. The finished result is a testament to the value of collaboration, careful planning, and the collective effort of everyone involved.

Last Friday, our Queenstown team had a great social afternoon ice skating and dinner at Ayrburn Precinct.

Having been involved in the project as project partners, it's always special to return and experience the finished result, seeing the spaces come to life and be enjoyed by the community.

Our team recently returned from Auckland after attending the annual NZIQS Conference held at the new New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC).

This year's theme, Rise Together, was reflected throughout the conference, with plenty of opportunities to learn, share ideas, and connect with industry professionals from all over the country.

There was no shortage of valuable insights, but a couple of standout sessions included Matt Ensor's discussion on the future of Generative AI and how it can support Quantity Surveyors, and Lauren Parsons' engaging session on the power of connection and building stronger relationships.

Beyond the presentations, one of the biggest highlights for our team was catching up with colleagues, meeting new people, getting competitive and playing a few games, and hearing different perspectives from across the country.

A big thank you to NZIQS for another well organised event. We're looking forward to bringing some fresh ideas and learnings back to the rest of our QUBE team.

Site visit day.
Overseeing the progress of a project which our team has been involved in since the early stages of planning, alongside a great project team.

From a QS perspective, these visits are key to accurately assessing progress, particularly when completing monthly claims and it’s always rewarding to see a project transition from numbers on a spreadsheet into reality.

Last Friday our Queenstown team took their lunch break outside, heading out for a couple of rounds of lawn bowls to make the most of the warm days before winter arrives.

Congratulations to our senior QS Darren for taking out the win on the day leading with precision and the highest overall score.🏆

Thanks to the Queenstown Bowling Club for having us, our team had a great time.
