Pretty special to see our trap covers being used in projects like this 🙌

Even better for me personally — as an Irishman — to see conservation work like this happening back home 🇮🇪

These DOC-style trap covers are designed and manufactured here in New Zealand by Philproof, often supplied through distribution partners, and it’s great to see them being put to use internationally in real-world predator control programmes.

A great result — and ultimately a win for conservation. These have proven to be an effective tool for ferret control and it’s good to see them making an impact where it counts.

Always proud to see Kiwi-made gear doing its job.

Amazing to see the Otago Peninsula on the verge of being possum-free! 🐾

RNZ highlighted the cutting-edge drones, AI cameras and detector dogs helping to locate the very last animals — awesome tools for the final tidy-up phase.

It’s also worth noting the years of groundwork behind this milestone:
✔ committed ground crews
✔ community trapping
✔ and extensive bait-station networks doing the heavy lifting early on

Tech helps finish the marathon — but the foundation is always built by people on the ground.

Great effort by everyone involved 👏

Efforts to stamp the pests out, including using AI cameras and detection dog Scout, have been going for years.

Awesome seeing the progress in Ōpua Forest 🌿

Philproof supplied lots of bait stations used in this project to safely provide ground-based toxins for pests species.

The traps are cool, but the real game changer has been the bait station + toxin combo — targeted, efficient, and delivering the results that truly protect our native bush. "...one of the most effective ways to kill the predators".

Philproof bait stations offer an effective solution for preventing possums from consuming rodent-specific bait. By installing a floor component costing just $4, users can potentially reduce bait losses by up to $20 per night.
The double-sided Multi-Pest floor is designed with a high baffle that restricts possum access to rodent-targeted bait such as Pindone or 50D. When transitioning to possum control, simply invert the floor while refilling the station, allowing possums unrestricted access to the bait as required.

Philproof® was the recipient of a national Fieldays prototype award in 1995. This year commemorates three decades of safeguarding New Zealand's biodiversity. The design of the bait stations has remained largely unchanged due to its proven effectiveness.
