There's nothing we love more than a good upcycling story, and this one's a goodie, from Michael; a happy customer a few month's back!
"Thought I’d send you a success story of my XZW purchasing.
You’ll see from the attached photos that there’s a record album stand showing. The story behind this is that I sourced three offcuts of native timber from your wood yard. I then spent 5 hours making the album stand, tidying up the wood, routering it, oiling it, etc. I’d already had the polished stainless steel rods made and bent for my record cabinet, this rod was a spare. The ’NOW SPINNING’ engraving was done by Gavin at Cycled Design on Bow Street.
The other bonus here was that I’d earlier picked up the Roberta Flack, Killing Me Softly album from Kaahu’s Nest. It was in what would be termed Very Good condition in audiophile terminology. It’s an original 1973 US pressing with the die cut cover too!
Thanks to you guys from a very happy shopper."
So epic! If you have any upcycling or Kaahu's shopping stories to share- please tag us or send them through. We love hearing them.
