A little payroll heads-up for employers 👀

From 12 September, Inland Revenue is introducing new warnings when employment information is filed through myIR.

The system may flag things like:

• missing or invalid IRD numbers
• tax codes that do not match the employee details
• student loan deduction mismatches
• missing employee names

You’ll still be able to file, but the warnings are there to help identify issues earlier.

It’s another good reminder that payroll is not just about pressing “process payrun”.

The employee setup behind it matters too.
