A red severe weather warning is in place for our region, causing significant flooding, slips, and numerous power cuts. We expect possible service disruptions during this weather event.

Network Tasman is reporting:
Power is off in Golden Bay, Motueka, and many other parts of our network. Due to conditions, it’s unsafe for crews to work near the lines, so it’s unlikely power will be restored tonight.

18/03/25 19:30 – We are still working with our network partner to resolve the issue. Services are expected to be restored between 11 PM and 1 AM once the replacement part arrives.

We are delighted to report that after many many months of discussions and negotiations, TPNET has now purchased the towers and the broadcast equipment in the Greater Waihopai Valley from the Marlborough District Council. What this means technically is THEPACIFIC.NET (TPNET) has now the full ownership and operation of the Waihopai Valley network. It gives TPNET the opportunity to control and upgrade all the connections so we can bring you a better quality Internet service.

TPNET is truly excited that after many long months of negotiations, we have finally managed to get to this point. It’s still a challenging work in progress, so thank you all again for your patience and understanding.

We are doing this to improve connectivity and quality of service, and doing our very best to make this process as fast as possible.
