Challenge accepted Rotorua Business Chamber!

Today I met Kath from Novotel Rotorua for a coffee at Mr Wolf. Until today, Kath and I hadn't met but had been challenged to arrange a coffee date after we both attended a recent Women In Business event hosted by the Rotorua Business Chamber.

If you know me, you'll know that I love a good story so I felt really privileged to hear Kath's first hand.

Kath owned her own business before she sold for personal reasons and dared to become an employee again! Her leap of faith into the Novotel's newly formed Corporate Sales role has rewarded her with new connections to Rotorua businesses, for whom she goes the extra mile to add the x-factor to the guest experience.

While 'clocking on' is something she's still to get used to, 'clocking out' and making it to the gym at a decent hour is a newfound freedom!

Thanks so much for taking the time to have a coffee with me Kath. I'm stoked your business card got put in front of me and it was you I had to call to arrange this coffee with.

May we meet again soon and that you continue to be rewarded for your dedication to your role.

Earlier in the year I shared how we had decided to get going with the comms around 3D Industrial Ltd purchasing CDL log grapples even though we didn't have a logo for the product range yet. Well, now we do!

Introducing the CDL LumberLOAD - Rotating Log Grapple

See what we did there? 3D wanted to keep 'CDL' as it's a known brand in NZ + we recommended they added something to it that gave the product name more meaning. LumberLOAD is a derivative of sister product, LumberLIFT. In combining the two we have the best of both worlds - the brand equity in CDL + a more descriptive name and strapline that sit comfortably alongside 3D's other product brands.

We're now rolling out the update to the marketing programme that's been in place for the last 6 months.

It's great to have come this far with 3D's newest product before we close out the year. The simplest ideas are often the best. Having the breathing room to develop the brand has produced a great outcome.

Thanks 3D Industrial Ltd for continuing to put your trust in Shout Marketing for your brand development and marketing programmes.

Words. I am not short on them. Or so I have been told. It turns out that ChatGPT loves them too! How good?

Yesterday I learned that where we know Google loves a few key words, ChatGPT loves clear instructions and can be used back and forward like a conversation.

That delights me!

Thanks for 2 hours jam packed with your insights and Rotorua Airport and Talent ID Recruitment and Human Resources for hosting. It really was 👍

Hawke’s Bay followers - do you know anyone?

Yes, Talent ID is a client, but I can honestly say that Kellie is a fantastic boss and has a supportive team that help each other out on the daily. Spread the word.

Well what do we have here? Or should I say, what don't we have here?

We don't have a logo, or professional photos, but CDL Log Grapples have been released into the wild anyway!

It goes against branding convention but sometimes you have to make a considered decision and run the promotions anyway. In this case, our client, 3D Industrial Ltd, purchased an existing company and needed to get the word out quick to ensure continuity in sales.

The marketing assets that came with the product were out of date so we decided to do the best with what we have! And be reassured with clean design and the strength of the anchor brand that is 3D Industrial, it would be enough in the interim.

This simple social media tile has evolved into a press ad and website page (that we will add to as we go). And it will no doubt make an appearance in the email marketing we have scheduled.

The other advantage of moving forward with what we have, is that is buys us time to properly invest in the new and enduring brand development.

This is a long way of saying to you, sometimes it's OK to move quickly, using what you have. But do it well. Maintain all the good practice you can, and only compromise on what you really can't access.

Shout Marketing was proud to collaborate with Talent ID Recruitment and Human Resources to bring the inaugural Cocktails For A Cause to life.

Talent ID host an annual fundraising event and this year they decided to move from a breakfast to a cocktail party and this time, raise money for Graeme Di**le Foundation Rotorua.

It was a good move - MORE people were able to attend, MORE $$ were raised, MORE profile was given to a local charity and MORE cocktails were consumed (which is a given, at the other end of the day 😉).

Huge thanks to Shout's long-time faves - Redspot and Katie Hoy Photographer. Also to Terrace Kitchen and Max, who bought the live music to the gig!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Talent ID team on this one and it was just a great night out. Will be in talks to see if they will do it all again next year.

It was really special to meet the contributors in person and hear how ready and willing they are to host the families coming their way. Rotorua you are ✨.

Throwback Thursday to last week when Mayor Tania Tapsell hosted those who have contributed to Manaaki Rotorua.

Individuals, hospitality, attractions + accomodation providers joined the Manaaki Rotorua Team to enjoy a Mayoral Breakfast and hear how this amazing community initiative is positively impacting those severely effected by Cyclone Gabrielle.

We are truly grateful for the support of The Rotorua Lakes Council and Rotorua NZ for this kaupapa, bringing 100 families to Rotorua to enjoy our city’s world renowned manaakitanga.

First promotion for Talent ID Recruitment and Human Resources is out of the blocks. If you think you might need a temp between now and Christmas read on 😉.

That's right, morning tea is on us when you hire one of our ready-to-go temps between now and Christmas.

Temps are a great way to clear backlogs and cover short term assignments, extended annual leave or any gaps while you recruit permanent staff.

And to make it even sweeter, when your Talent ID temp starts, we'll bring in morning tea from Kindred Road - Furniture & Homewares in Hawke's Bay, Boasters Coffee in Bay of Plenty or a caterer of your choice.

As well as creating the GP Referral website page for GoPhysio, we also designed a flyer (which was the initial brief) that they can leave with GPs after they have completed their face-to-face briefing on the new fully-funding knee rehabilitation service. It includes useful information like the referral process, types of knee injuries covered and how to make an online referral.

It was a straightforward project and the client was rapt ☺️

We launched the GoPhysio website in early 2020 and as with best practice, and updates to the service, we have made updates to it along the way.

Today we launched a whole new page with information and an online referral form specifically for GPs. It was motivated by the introduction of a brand new service for knee rehabilitation - Escalated Care Pathway (ECP) - which gave us the opportunity to share the other services GP's can refer their patients for.

There's a real satisfaction in being able to add layers to the solid communications foundations clients already have.

We hope this
a) makes referrals easier for GPs
b) results in more people having their knees rehabilitated; and
c) promotes GoPhysio as an approved provider.

Take a look.

GoPhysio offers a number of vocational tools and support programmes to restore movement, and help people return to work after an illness, injury or accident.
