Bad news first: After a rather short stint at 99Bikes, I have decided to leave. It’s a great shop, with great people, but it wasn’t a great fit for me and my approach to the bike industry.

AWESOME NEWS!!!: As of today (best first day ever), I am in the workshop at Mountain Bike Rotorua . . You can find me at the Waipa site most days (still working out my schedule). I’ll be providing the same great service you came to expect from Ezra’s Place, but with a team that shares my same values and focus on customer service.

Come by and say ‘hi’ on your next ride, or drop your bike off for a service and check out my new digs. Thank you all again for your support over the years. I look forward to seeing you!

I’ll be back tomorrow under the Level 3 restrictions! It’s going to be a weird week so bear with me…I also have some rather big news:

Due to a number of unfortunate circumstances, and some awesome opportunities, I am going to close Ezra’s Place this Saturday, the 4th of September. I know that’s soon. That’s this week… almost now.

Thankfully, I’m not going far. I’ll still be here in Rotorua to work on your bikes, but now with the support from 99Bikes. They are opening a brand new store in Rotorua, and I’ll be in the workshop doing what I do best, and providing the same level of service you have come to expect from Ezra’s Place.

I don’t have the exact date for the grand opening yet (COVID has thrown a big spanner in the works), but you shouldn’t be left hanging for too long. If you are stuck in the in-between, just call or text.

I will be sad to see the coffee go. It has been a big and important part of my day for several years. (Quite a bit longer if you consider my personal history with coffee!)

Everything happened so fast, and the Level 4 lockdown has made it especially hard, but I’ll do my best to take care of any jobs this week. I also have a lot of stuff that I would like to find good homes for. I’ll be selling all excess stock at huge discounts, and have lots of free second-hand parts that need good homes.

I can’t thank you all enough for your support over the years! I truely love what I do, and couldn’t do it without you. I hope to see you all at the new shop soon!

If you have seen the awesome footage of our local trails that I play in the shop, you have seen what Jamie from New Zealand Mountain Biking biking has to offer. I strongly believe the best way to improve your riding isn't with new kit, but with improving your skills with someone like Jamie!

Mountain biking lesson vouchers are a great gift idea. Help get someone you know into the sport of mountain biking and share the stoke!
