I have been out at clients addresses carrying out Safety Management Auditing this month. It's really important for Operators to remember that external auditing is important and a requirement under Part 100. It needs to be carried out every two years and when triggered by a major incident or accident.

Business Risk Enterprises have successfully guided Tourism Milford Limited through the Air Operators Certificate process. All manuals, SOP's and forms were made from scratch and have been accepted by the CAA. The CAA praised BRE for the professional appearance of the documentation and its level of compliance.

What a year it's been so far, and still more to come.
I've just completed Safety Management Systems(SMS) training for the mangament and staff of my client Tourism Milford Limited in Queenstown. We have set up a new helicopter company in Queenstown and have our CAA initial audit for our Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
It has been the culmination of months of work and preparation. Scotty Theyers and I have worked tirelessly to have the new arm of the company ready for business.
I have had to write the company's exposition from scratch, and apart from a few changes, the documents have been recieved well by the CAA.
SMS has been a huge effort, understanding the expectations of the regulator has been challenging but due to the absolute willingness of the TML helicopter team to not only accept SMS, but embrace it, has been a key factor in its inception and implementation.
Looking forward to next weeks audit with confidence and excitement.
