Recently, we completed construction monitoring for a new residential subdivision for one of our key clients.

Our monitoring works included:
- Subgrade surface inspections
- Waffle raft slab pre-pour inspections
- Structural inspections

Construction monitoring is a critical part of the building process, helping to ensure work is completed in accordance with design requirements, specifications, and relevant standards.

We had an awesome Mid-Winter Work Do recently, bringing our Taupō and Hamilton teams together for a day of drift karting, a team lunch, and annual awards.

We also had the pleasure of celebrating Barbara's 15-year anniversary with CORE50. As our Accounts Manager, Barbara has been an invaluable part of the team, and we're incredibly grateful for everything she does. Congratulations Barbara on 15 years! 🎉

In Kawerau, our client purchased a section and plans to build a home in line with the neighbouring property.

The slope of the site meant large cuts and retaining, or retaining with large fill would be required.

We completed cost effective geotechnical investigations for foundation recommendations and building consent application. Dense subsoils meant that cutting and retaining would also provide a suitable building platform for a lightweight dwelling, and manage vehicle entry challenges.

Venturing far north for this one!

We recently completed soil testing for the future works at Te Ngati Pare O Waihaha Marae in Waikare, Northland. Our team carried out geotechnical investigations to help support the next stage of planning and development for this special project.

Such an incredible spot near Kinloch! ☀

A prestigious and exciting new development is underway in a stunning rural setting, combining farming with low-density rural-residential living.

We have completed a desktop study report to support resource consent approval and will continue providing preliminary geotechnical reporting, construction monitoring, and geotechnical completion reporting to support future building consent applications for what will be a beautiful new development.

Geotechnical investigations underway in Kinloch ☀️

Due to the scale and complexity of the proposed multi-level development, additional testing was carried out to better understand the site’s ground conditions. With large cuts, retaining, and fill across split platforms, a detailed ground profile is essential to inform foundation design.

Refusal was met relatively shallow, introducing potential complications to the proposed cuts on site. It also gave us an insight into appropriate foundations and the scale of machinery that will be required for construction.
