Do you provide opportunities for your child or the children in your care to be involved in real-life activities?
Part of every child’s development and understanding of the world around them is to model behaviour of those they spend time with.
Having simple experiences such as hanging out washing can be extremely beneficial…learning to use pegs strengthens children’s fine motor skills and the muscles that they need to be able to write in the future. You can count, talk about colours and use an increasing amount of language to broaden their vocabulary.. the opportunities are endless. Not to mention how low cost this is!

If you are familiar with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, you would have seen this before from the great Loris Malaguzzi.
For me, here in Aotearoa it is essential that we uplift our children to be confident in themselves and of their culture. We do this by empowering children to be their unique selves. Encouraging them to ask questions, be inquisitive and teaching them how to find out more. 💛

Kia ora, My name is Emma Blake and I would like to introduce my private consultancy business - The ECE Project.
Following a career that has spanned 2 decades and being a Mother to 2 pretty amazing children, I am following my passion of providing insight and advice to Early Childhood Settings and parents/whanau of children under 6 years old.
I can provide guidance with sleep, behaviour, learning and development for parents and whanau who are looking for practical advice and ideas (Follow this page for free tips and tricks!)
I specialise in ECE management, leadership and curriculum. I have experience in helping to set up new settings for licensing.
