Big news from TMRE: we are now Solassure Certified.

Solassure is New Zealand’s independent quality mark for solar and energy storage. Our certification means TMRE has been independently assessed against strict standards for system design, products, installation, business practices, after-sales support and customer care.

For our customers, that means greater confidence that their solar and battery project is being delivered by a provider committed to quality at every stage—from the first conversation to long after switch-on.

We’re proud to pair this national quality mark with the local knowledge, relationships and kaupapa that have always guided our mahi.

Heading home after an absolutely awesome day participating and supporting Ngā Tāngata Tiaki o Whanganui solar workshops☀️

It’s been massive for Tū Mai Rā Energy as we roll out solar installations across the Whanganui rohe. With 8 marae installs done & 22 more to go!

Huge mihi to the teams on the ground for the manaakitanga and hard work. It’s not just about putting panels on roofs; it’s about empowering communities to take control of their own energy future. 💚

On to the next one!

☀️ Big news for solar in Aotearoa — and for the whānau who've been locked out of it.

Today the Ministry for Regulation released its review of the solar installation process, and two changes stand out for us at Tū Mai Rā Energy:

🔌 Plug-in solar is set to be legalised — a low-cost way for renters, apartment dwellers and whānau in papakāinga to finally take part, even without a roof of their own.

⚡ Faster connections — accredited installers will be able to connect systems up to 100kW without the weeks-long wait for inspection that's held up mahi in rural and provincial areas.

For us this is simple: energy that's faster, more affordable, and stays in the hands of our communities. We've been advocating for these changes, and we're ready to help bring plug-in solar here. 🌱

Tū mai rā — the sun is ours to harness.

Mauri Ora whānau! ☀️

We're proud to share the near completion of a 10kW ground-mounted solar system at Kaputuhi Marae near — clean, resilient energy now grounded in the whenua and standing ready to serve the marae for years to come.

This install marks a special milestone for us. It's the first time TMRE is deploying Sodium-Ion batteries, as part of a deliberate move to test and shift towards battery technology that's more environmentally friendly and recyclable. Sodium-Ion uses abundant, widely available materials and steps away from some of the scarcer minerals found in conventional lithium batteries — an approach that sits well with kaitiakitanga and caring for our whenua for the generations to come.

A huge ngā mihi to the Marae Pact Trust for backing this kaupapa and making it possible.

Thanks also to our design & install partners & for their mahi on the ground.

And a big mihi to Matua Rore Stafford and the whānau of Kaputuhi Marae for your manaakitanga and for welcoming this kaupapa onto your marae.

Tū mai rā — following in the footsteps of Maui to harness the sun. ☀️

Mauri ora! 🌱

🌞 Ko te rā, ko te marae, ko te iwi — the sun, the marae, the people.
Exciting mahi underway at Te Korapatu and Te Kauae marae as Tū Mai Rā Energy and our install partners Marshall Electrical along with support from Maniapoto Marae Pact Trust (MMPT) & Solar Sense bring solar energy to life on the rooftops of these taonga.
MMPT organised the support while Solar Sense & TMRE led the scoping and system design, the Marshall Electrical team have done a fantastic job with the installation — working across both marae to ensure our whānau have clean, affordable energy for generations to come.
This is what energy sovereignty looks like in practice. Marae by marae. Community by community. 🤝☀️

🌊☀️ When the journey to the marae IS the kaupapa...
Getting to Marokopa Marae isn't as simple as pulling up in the ute and unloading gear. Nestled at the mouth of the Marokopa River, this beautiful and remote marae is accessible only by barge or boat — and when you're scoping a solar installation, that changes everything.
Our team recently made the crossing to meet with the community and get eyes on the site. The planning alone requires working with the rhythm of the tides — because when it comes time to bring solar panels, batteries, and equipment across, the water decides the schedule, not us. 🌊
That's the reality of working in remote Māori communities — and honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way. The more challenging the access, the more important the mahi.
📸 Swipe to see the barge waiting on the river, our crew launching the tinnie at the ramp, the crossing itself, and the stunning Marokopa landscape that makes every challenge worth it — including the wharenui Miro-Miro-i-te-Awatea standing proud on the other side. 🏡
This is what energy resilience looks like for whānau who've never had it easy getting resources in — and why TMRE shows up, however we have to get there. 💚
Kia kaha, Marokopa. We're on our way. ☀️

☀️ It's floating and looks incredible. ☀️

We promised you something special — and here it is. The floating solar array is building on the water, panels are being laid down, and soon the power will be connected. 🌊⚡

From laying out the floats on the bank, to watching the first rows slide out onto the pond, the project is taking shape where soon a full floating array will doing its mahi from the middle of the water. The crew have worked through all weathers to get here, and every single day on site has been worth it.

This is what renewable energy looks like when it's built by the community, for the community — no land used, no compromise, just clean energy on water.

Ngā mihi nui ki ō mātou hoa rangapū — Rangitāne o Tamaki Nui-ā-Rua me Tararua District Council. You made this happen. 🙌

Aotearoa's energy future is here. And we're just getting started. 🚀
