The best cheese slicer ever... we bought this in 2000 & it's been used daily, but finally the handle gave up.

It was satisfying to fix & fun to share the story with friends about using meccano & polymer clay scraps from our boys' out-grown toy box 💚

One of the biggest waste streams in Aotearoa NZ is construction & demolition waste. There are so many amazing materials going into landfills that could be reused IF there were systems, requirements and processes in place to 1. deconstruct to a high standard and 2. ways to get materials to people who need them. Mark Roberts from Auckland Council recently did a study tour to the US visiting some 30 organisations involved in deconstruction work. His journey has resulted in a report filled with thoughtful and useful ways for us to address this significant waste stream.
