Lindsay was out and about last week at Birchwood Packhouse Ltd ’s annual Spring Field Day talking to growers about managing fruit quality on orchard, with a closer look at soil moisture and the importance of monitoring 🌱💧

The rotating station format is always a favourite. The small groups allow for plenty of questions and lots of good conversation.

A big thanks to the Birchwood team for having Fruition along again. We love being part of this event! 💚

A big congratulations to James Blair, winner of the 2026 Young Grower of the Year competition in Cromwell! 🎉

James came out on top of a very strong field of seven contestants, with Amber Davy taking out runner-up.

It’s always great to see events like this supporting and showcasing the talented people coming through our industry. The future of horticulture is in great hands 🌱

After nearly two years with Fruition, we recently said goodbye to our lovely Resource Developer, Naidene.

She’ll definitely be missed for her friendly, approachable nature, always being happy to help, and of course, the cheerful splash of pink she brought to the office 🌸

Our Hei Whanake tutors especially appreciated how willing she was to jump in and lend a hand, and she leaves a legacy of work that will continue to support the team.

Naidene should be really proud of everything she achieved during her time with Fruition.

Thanks for everything, and all the very best for what comes next 💚

A HUGE thanks to Andrea of@forevergreenseedlings and Minako from Tauranga Community Foodbank Garden for taking time out of their busy schedules to talk to our Lincoln University students and show us their operations 🙏 The students found it to be a really valuable experience and had plenty of questions!
