A rare conversation with Carl Peterson, pioneer of the modern commercial swing-blade sawmill, looking back at where it all began.

In 1988, Carl built his first prototype in New Zealand — a machine that went on to win an award when he publicly unveiled his invention.

That original idea helped establish an entirely new approach to portable sawmilling: the commercial swing-blade sawmill.

Nearly four decades later, that pioneering thinking continues through Turbosawmill.

Carl has remained an inspiration behind what we do and has endorsed the development of Turbosawmill and our products as we continue pushing swing-blade technology forward.

Eric continues to roll out more M12 Turbosawmills, and it's great to see how quickly the operators have mastered the machine. While we'd always encourage the use of full PPE on site, the team has adapted exceptionally well and is already producing quality timber fast.

Seeking 8 Regional Turbosawmill Dealers

Beaver Works, as the US distributor for Turbosawmill, is looking to add 8 regional dealers in the USA. These will be region-specific; see the map below if you’re in one of our target areas.

All sales will go through Beaver Works, and dealers will be paid commission on all sales in their territory regardless of whether the sale originated with Beaver Works or with the dealer. Beaver Works will ship sawmills to dealers, and customers will collect at the dealer and receive training on the dealer’s demo mills. Dealers will be required to purchase, at dealer pricing, at least one M12-35A and one M8-25M.

Beaver Works will pay booth fees for trade shows in each territory for dealers to attend with a sawmill for demonstrations. Beaver Works and Turbosawmill will provide advertising, sales, and technical support. Representatives from Turbosawmill will visit each dealer and provide training on sawmill assembly and operation.

Ideal candidates will be in or near the locations on the map below, with an established small business in equipment sales/rental, small established sawmills, or related trades. See the form below to submit your information for consideration.
