I had the privilege of attending a Security of Crowded Places Forum at Eden Park recently.
A range of really interesting topics. For me, the potential that AI has in our industry.

One of the takeaways is a new website that has been launched.

There is some really good information in here, along with links to professionals to assist with your events, and/or sites that can be Crowded Places.
I work with some of these professionals, and got to listen to a few others speak at the forum.

In light of the nature of Security work being 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Having International Security Officers day on the 24th of July is rather fitting.
Thankyou to my team for going above and beyond on every shift. Aegis wouldn't be punching above its weight without each and every one of you.
I will be forever grateful.

Proud to be a part of AIMs again this year. Looking forward to seeing these young athletes doing what they love

How exciting! 🙌 Nearly 15,000 athletes are set to take part in this year’s Zespri AIMS Games in Tauranga, with a record 14,506 entries from 467 schools (up from 431 in 2025), including 11 international schools. 📈

Individual sports are driving huge growth, with record numbers in mountain biking (654 riders), cross country (778 athletes), badminton (371), tennis (252), golf (180), rock climbing (193) and surfing (87), while adapted sports entries have nearly tripled to 92.

Team sports are also booming 😆 Rip Rugby has jumped to 100 teams, football/futsal sits at 193 teams, and rugby codes now total 159 teams, just ahead of netball (156).

Set for September 5–11, the 2026 tournament continues to grow as New Zealand’s biggest school sporting event, bringing together thousands of young athletes from across the country and beyond.
