❄️ WINTER WARMTH TIP ❄️

Want a simple way to stay warmer on those chilly winter nights? πŸ₯Ά

πŸ›οΈ Try placing a thick blanket or duvet inner underneath your fitted bottom sheet.

The extra layer helps insulate you from the cold mattress, trapping warmth and making your bed feel much cosier before you even pull the covers up!

πŸ’‘ It's an easy, low-cost trick that can make a surprising difference to your comfort and may even help reduce heating costs.

What's your favourite tip for staying warm in winter? Share it below! πŸ‘‡πŸ”₯

♻️ Check out your local second-hand store for quality blankets, duvets, and bedding to help keep your whānau warm this winter. πŸ’™

We agree! Rachael is doing great mahi with the Enviro group at Thames High School!
There is always lots going on and many ways that the students can participate - if you think the Enviro group is something your child would be interested in then, tell them to keep an ear out in the notices for meetings or flick us a message and we will pass their details on! πŸ’š

🌱 Enviroschools Partnership: Shout out to Rachael

We want to acknowledge the fantastic support and mentorship Rachael provides to our student environment leaders. As part of Enviroschools and various other organizationsβ€”including climate summits and Hauraki Plains Environmental eventsβ€”Rachael brings a wealth of sustainability knowledge to our kura.

She has been a massive help with our recent initiatives:
organisations
International Food Festival: Last week, she helped set up the systems to recycle plates and manage food waste effectively.

Daily Support & Planning: She regularly attends our Enviro Group meetings to help our student leaders plan and organise. At last week's food festival, she prepared all the gear and even sourced vouchers and prizes to encourage students to separate their waste.

Community Projects: Last year, she coordinated with our students for a planting day at Parawai School.

What’s Next?
Rachael is also helping us plan our upcoming waste audit, managing the booking and providing all the necessary equipment.

Thank you, Rachael, for your practical support, your gear, and for helping our students drive these positive changes! 🌍
