A massive thank you to Canterbury Kerb & Concrete (CKC) for their incredibly generous donation towards Team Soul and our fundraising for Christchurch’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Based in Christchurch and servicing the South Island, CKC specialise in commercial and residential concrete and kerbing. We’re proud to have them supporting our team and this incredibly important cause.

Our fundraising is supporting the Māia Health Foundation’s Tiny Hands Need Big Hearts campaign, helping improve family spaces within the neonatal unit, including the Pounamu Room, a private space where families can spend time together during some of the hardest days of their lives.

The Pounamu Room holds a particularly special place in Soul’s story, and we hope our fundraising can help ensure other families have a comfortable, private and dignified space to be together.

💙 TEAM SOUL | FUNDRAISING FOR CHRISTCHURCH NICU'S POUNAMU ROOM 💙

At Paul Smith Earthmoving, family means everything.

Today we're proud to launch Team Soul, our fundraising campaign supporting Christchurch NICU through the Māia Health Foundation's Tiny Hands Need Big Hearts campaign.

This cause is deeply personal to our team.

The Pounamu Room was a place where Soul's family could spend precious time together during some of the most difficult days of their lives. It provided privacy, comfort and dignity when they needed it most. It was where family and friends visited, where Soul had his first sleepover with his parents, and later, where they returned to say goodbye to the incredible NICU staff who cared for him.

We want to help ensure that other families facing unimaginable circumstances have access to the same care, support and private spaces when they need them most.

We're inviting our clients, contractors, suppliers, friends and wider community to join us in supporting this important cause.

Big moves at Waipuna Rise 🚜⛰️

Bulk earthworks are well underway at the Waipuna Rise development near Queenstown, where our team is shaping the landscape and laying the foundations for what’s to come. This project includes the construction of new roads, carparks, and essential three waters infrastructure to support future growth in the area.

By completion, we’ll have moved more than 78,000 Cubic Meters of material across the site and installed:
• 2.38km of stormwater infrastructure
• 1.67km of wastewater pipelines
• 1.34km of water supply lines
• Nearly 1km of new fencing and retaining walls

It’s always satisfying to see progress measured not just in metres and tonnes, but in the transformation of a site taking shape.

Sam is a quiet achiever — never one to make a fuss, but always the first to put her hand up and jump into any job that needs doing. She consistently completes both her workplace tasks and assessment evidence to an exceptional standard, showing real dedication and pride in her work.

Sam has now moved on to a Heavy Diesel Apprenticeship, and we wish her all the very best for the road ahead — a huge future awaits! 🚛💪
