NEW PROGRAMME ALERT!!!

COMMUNITY AIR EMISSIONS INITIATIVE

From August 2026 to February 2027 through the generous grant support from the Eastern & Central Community Trust's Impact Fund we will be independently testing emissions from our three existing mobile carbonisation kilns, while building local capability in air-quality monitoring and environmental compliance.

Below is our schedule activities the Tairawhiti and Wairoa District Communities can look forward to and participate in.

October 2026: Community air-emissions training workshops in Ruatoria, Tolaga Bay, Gisborne and Wairoa.

November 2026: Five independent emissions tests in Reporua, Mangatuna, Wharekaka, Mahia and Wairoa.

December 2026 : Laboratory analysis & compliance reporting.

January 2027 : Public presentation of results in Reporua, Mangatuna, Tolaga Bay, Mahia and Wairoa.

February 2027 : Development of Best-practice framework for future deployments and online publishing.

We will be working with our kiln operators, iwi and hapū, land owners, kaitiakitanga, councils and community members.

Our initiative aims to provide transparent evidence on the environmental performance of our mobile carbonisation through empowerment workshops, measuring of emissions, verifying of data collected, learning what the data means with the community, and sharing final results and recommendations with the public.

We are honoured and excited to be kick starting our Wood is Good journey with Discover Forestry with a Day at the Te Hapara School in Gisborne next week Tuesday the 25th August 2026.

We will get to showcase our mobile carbonization kiln alongside Aratu Forests Limited and Ernslaw One Limited's industry machinery and value chain; and show how our mobile kiln services and biochar products link up to complete the forestry industry value chain in a circular and sustainable way.

We look forward to a fun filled day of awesome interactions and learning with students, parents, teachers and forestry industry stakeholders!!
