Hautapu Haulage, we’re proud to have people who go above and beyond, not just in their work, but in the way they look out for others.
Today, we want to acknowledge three of our own — Pop, Joe and Richie — who have each found themselves in situations where their actions have made a real difference.
Pop — Was one of the first on the scene of a serious crash and stepped in to provide first aid when it was needed most.
Joe — Arrived at the yard to find a fellow driver unconscious and took action, placing them in the recovery position.
Richie — Witnessed a fellow truck driver fall from his truck and hit his head. Richie was first on the scene, called for help and helped place the driver in the recovery position.
These situations are a reminder that being a truck driver is about much more than getting the job done and getting from A to B. It’s about looking out for one another, stepping up when things go wrong, and helping those in need.
In a world where Health and Safety, Compliance and Training is the new normal, is great to see that when it matters the default setting works.
We’re incredibly proud of Pop, Joe and Richie for their actions and for the care they’ve shown towards others in difficult circumstances.
Good on you, lads. You’ve represented Hautapu Haulage with pride.
