A stroll down the port side of this beautiful 5.4m Mitchell Rec Jet sitting sitting on it's custom fabbed tandem axle braked trailer.

This machine is as much a piece of art as it is functional. Shooting up your local river or toying toys across the lake, this Rec Jet does it with both style and comfort.

Out on the Waimakariri river with Sean from PDS Marine and this Mitchell BSG 46. Beautiful boat, and well put together by the team at Black Sheep Garage.

Powered by Marine Power USA 6.2L coupled to a Hamilton Jet 212 this machine behaves impeccably, doing everything and going anywhere the new owner wants.

Thanks for the trip team.

5.4m Mitchell Rec Jet we recently finished. Painted in Porsche's Gentian Blue with tan and black BoatDek, powered by LS3 coupled to Scott Waterjet 852.

This machine was fully loaded with AutoMeter Products, Inc. gauges, Jetheat 6 vent heater, Uniden VHF, Fusion stereo with 4 LED back lit speakers, and enough lighting to put a Xmas tree to shame.

When welding our dashboards we weld everything, inside and outside.

Why?
Strength.

Then we cap the corner to reinforce it more.

We've seen it all to common, stress and fatigue cracks at the corners of the dash. Using the steering wheel to pull yourself out of the drivers seat or stabilise yourself during tight maneuvering combined with the cockpit to foredeck vibration the corners of the dash have to deal with a lot.

We also weld under the dash and foredeck. Others might weld the easy places, then linish the weld off to make it aesthetically pleasing. While we love aesthetics as much as the next guy, we reinforce the join with more weld on the backside before linishing.

Everywhere we can.

These are things we consider during design, then execute during your build.

Tying our coamings into the 1-piece 4mm transom helps create enormous amounts of rigidity, avoiding those pesky stress cracks that so often form in the cockpit corners.
