Himmelsfeld Vineyard , established 1991, is in the heart of the Upper Moutere . The Story of Beth Eggers and Himmelsfeld Vineyard is a story of faith and family, history and determination, and of the bond between land and farmer which, she says, is rarely stronger than when it is formed through the grape vine. It is a story that tracks Beth back to roots sunk deep and long ago in the demanding s

oils of the Moutere area. Hans and Dora Eggers arrived from northern Germany in 1859 seeking a new life in the beautiful rolling hill country known as the Upper Moutere. From bare land to Himmelsfeld today Beth has created her labour of love with hard work and commitment to a dream of making fine wine as simply and as naturally as possible, letting the wines speak of the place they are from. With the thanks to the 100 big woolly Romney sheep which have descended from her two original pets, Grace & Hanover, who began breeding in 1994. Himmelsfeld is kept clean an green, and with their inquisitive nature they are also eager to be part of your Himmelsfeld experience.
