A huge thank you to Mike Puru for sharing his insights into the fast-growing world of podcasting at this morning's PRINZ Tauranga event.

Despite the 1°C start, it was fantastic to see so many people brave the cold to connect and be part of the conversation.

A big thank you as well to Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology for hosting us and helping make the event possible.

We had the privilege of working with Mike Puru during NZSL Week for our client Deaf Aotearoa a couple of years ago. And I’m looking forward to catching up with him again in a few weeks when he will be the guest speaker at our Tauranga PRINZ (Public Relations Institute of New Zealand) podcasting breakfast event at Toi Ohomai.

Mike is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and a highly seasoned broadcaster and podcast host. This will be a great event for all my communications colleagues in the Bay of Plenty and is happening on Wednesday 5th August from 7am to 8:30am (a light breakfast is included).

Only $20 for members, $25 for non members - all welcome, whether you are a PRINZ member or not.

There's nothing quite like seeing an important story reach a national audience. 🥹

We're incredibly proud to have helped bring this powerful story to Seven Sharp for our newest client Stroke Aotearoa New Zealand .

A huge thank you to the Seven Sharp team for shining a light on stroke awareness, and especially to Mark Ford from Christchurch for so generously sharing his journey after experiencing a stroke at just 41 years old. His resilience and willingness to tell his story will help educate New Zealanders about the signs of stroke and remind us that stroke can happen to anyone, at any age.

It's a privilege to work alongside organisations making a genuine difference in our communities and help amplify stories that have the power to inform, inspire and save lives. 🧠❤️‍🩹

It was great to take time away from the home office and attend the PRINZ Tauranga Winter Mix & Mingle event recently.

Communications professionals, media representatives and former journalists enjoyed an evening of networking, including a speed networking session that sparked plenty of new connections and conversations.

A big congratulations to Marianne Falconer, who took home a special prize pack generously donated by our client Clarity Distilling. We hope you're enjoying your top-shelf prize!

As Co-Chair of the PRINZ Tauranga Sub-committee, it's always rewarding to see our local communications community connecting, sharing ideas and supporting one another.

Couples that hike together - stay together 🙌🏽

We celebrated 20 years of marriage last week hiking the hidden beaches of the beautiful Coromandel. We also just celebrated 13 years of doing business together - Breathe PR is a teenager. 😌🙏🏽

We are extremely grateful for all of it - working from home together, the business we have built and the clients we get to work with. It's not always easy, but it's all well worth it. 🫶🏾

Last week I facilitated an Inclusive Communications Workshop for Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council. 🫶🏾

Over two hours, we explored what it really means to communicate so that everyone in our communities can access, understand and act on information - including Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Blind and low-vision , LGBTQIA+ rainbow communities, and neurodivergent individuals. 👩🏽‍🦯🧏🏽 🏳️‍🌈🧠

This work is deeply personal for me as well as professional. As a parent of a transgender teen who has ASD (autism spectrum disorder), I see every day how systems, spaces and language can either open doors or quietly close them. My work with Deaf Aotearoa and Pride Pledge 🏳️‍🌈 has reinforced that accessibility and inclusion are imperative to ensure everyone in our society has a fair chance at feeling seen, validated and included. 🙌🏽
