This 3-day TA101 training includes trauma and touch and is being held in Auckland 10-12 July 2025 - You can find out more and register here. https://www.mandylacyconsulting.nz/ta-trauma-touch
This is the first TA101 of its kind in New Zealand, one that integrates the neuroscience that is breaking new ground across all the helping professions with these tried and tested TA models. Updating TA to include trauma, the body, and touch offers participants a modern experiential learning event where there will be many individual, small and whole group exercises and discussions. These are all designed for personal discovery and understanding. Many of the tools provided and techniques shown can be applied immediately to your own situation.
Dr Mandy Lacy and Gerry Pyves are two of New Zealand’s most senior and innovative TA trainers and supervisors. They are currently the co-presidents of TAAANZ (the Transactional Analysis Association of Aotearoa New Zealand).
What role can touch play in the removal of trauma from the human nervous system? How can this be ethically integrated into the helping professions? How can the core models of Transactional Analysis help us to deal with trauma and manage our nervous system state?
This 3-day training workshop thoroughly updates and modernises one of the oldest and well-tested humanistic psychotherapy traditions in the world, Transactional Analysis (TA). It does this by integrating the neuroscience of trauma and our understanding of the body and touch with this globally-recognised certified TA101 training.
TA provides us with a powerful set of tools that can have an enormous impact on our personal and professional interactions, communication, relationships and life. TA is an approach that has both depth and breadth: you will be introduced to the theory of human development, personality and communication that will provide a deeper understanding of self and others. These core insights allow us to increase our self-awareness and help us to bring about change.
From this training you will go away with:
• Tactile self-soothing protocols
• Tactile Trauma First Aid techniques
• An understanding of the core concepts of Transactional Analysis
• The internationally recognised TA101 certificate
• 14 Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) credits from the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
• 24 hours training of which the TA101 is 12 hours, integrating TA and touch is 12 hours.
