For many of us from Sri Lanka, this day carries a deeper emotional connection. While the histories are different, the essence remains the same. Sri Lanka too has witnessed decades of conflict, where countless lives were given, families were changed forever, and a nation learned the true cost of peace.

Just like ANZAC Day, Sri Lanka has its own moments of remembrance—times when we pause to honour those who stood for the country, often at great personal sacrifice.
