The long weekend gave me a chance to take time out and head down memory lane, catching up with fellow Kiwi drivers who took part in the 100th Beijing to Paris Rally back in 2007. Seven New Zealand teams competed in the historic event that started in Beijing and finished at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. It was an incredible journey that took us through some of the toughest terrain on the planet. Co-driver Greg Paul is pictured with me here - alongside our 1973 Fiat 125T - which we spent the best part of a year restoring before we hit the road.
