Kia ora koutou,

I've made a few changes over the last year or so. Awesome moves, but bold and scary too. Hamish and I at Convex Accounting parted ways in April (not as mates but as accounting business partners).

I've set up a new practice in Tauranga working alongside business owners wanting to strengthen their capabilities and of course stay on top of their taxes. Tahora Accounting & Advisory

Whakatau/whakawhanaungatanga

Last week the team from Tauranga headed off down to Te Whanganui a Tara to spend some in person time together. We've grown by another 4 in the last month across the two offices and for us it's important to keep team culture and relationships strong. That way we enjoy work more and can provide a better experience for our clients.

Check out this guy. The man himself dropping some wisdom learned through professional sport and how these skills translate to business or just life in general.

The housing crisis is so upsetting. Demand is sky high and the supply is so squeezed we have people homeless and first home buyers shut out of the market. Not sold that this will fix it but this is a bigger move then we've seen in sometime.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that property prices have gone through the roof. Yesterday, the Government announced their response. We’ve put this together to share some of our initial thoughts, and what it means in practice.

Ngā mihi Xero for the party and giving us the opportunity to celebrate. Unfortunately, this year we didn't get to bring the team up with us but we know we wouldn't be able to do what we do without our solid team. Doing the work, engaging with our clients and getting s #&t done.

We came away with Small Accounting Practice of the Year Convex Accounting and we are stoked about that. Thanks for your support Xero (the best accounting software out there), our loyal clients and our work whānau.

Now, if you are Tauranga based and looking for a new accountant - reach out and I'll be sure to join you for a coffee. We're expanding our practice into the Bay of Plenty and are now operating out of Basestation co-work space and loving it.
