Last week Drew headed along to the Property Council New Zealand site visit at 80 The Terrace!

A 19-storey Wellington CBD landmark getting seismic strengthening and future-focused redesign from the ground up. It's the kind of behind-the-scenes look at how buildings get reimagined that we're always here for.

Always good to see what's happening across the industry and stay close to the projects shaping our city and the built environment as a whole. Cheers to McKee Fehl for hosting.

Another great week of connection and knowledge-sharing as we joined local partners at the Pacific Infrastructure Business Opportunity Seminar!

We recently delivered end-to-end project management for a Government ministry-level commercial office fitout and relocation within a high-rise tower in Fiji - a full interior fit-out of a new tenancy floor, keeping operations running without missing a beat.

Following on from our last post about MentorMIX - the Building Institute Aotearoa programme connecting experienced industry professionals with the next generation - this past week we got to see it in action!

Dan took two of his mentees out for a big week - site visits and a roofshout, giving them a real taste of the hard mahi involved, with a bonus of networking after!

One of those mentees is Tyler, a 1st year architecture student, who got some awesome boots-on-the-ground experience out at Miramar Golf Club.

She also had the chance to pick the brain of architect Craig Houghton - the man behind the driving range and clubhouse - for some key industry insights straight from the source.

This is exactly what MentorMIX is all about. Safeguarding the future of the industry by passing knowledge down - making sure the experience and wisdom of those who've been doing it for years doesn't stay locked away, but gets shared with the people who are going to carry it forward.

🚧 Project Update - Sloane Street 🚧

Our Auckland office reporting in that Sloane Street, Glen Innes, is nearing the finish line! This boutique development of five freehold two-storey townhouses is coming together nicely, with the contractor making solid progress across the board.

Latest on site:
🚧 External landscaping and hardstand areas are progressing well
🚧 Interior fitouts and services are actively underway
🚧 Tiling, second-fix works, and finishing trades keeping things moving

BPM is on board providing full cost management services - giving the project funder confidence through budget certainty and financial oversight from start to finish.

By doing hard things, we can do hard things...

DB is always about making new connections and supporting his fellow athletes, through CANZ (Construction Athletes NZ) or, even just off his own back.

Local Duaan Beer was tackling a 25 hour backyard ultra for the special olympics NZ the other week. Dan headed down to muck in and help him through the pain, racking up 33.5kms over 5 hours including a shift through the wee hours.

Good training, as he's got his own backyard ultra coming up in July!

Yesterday was a good day. We headed out of the office early to attend the roof shout for Miramar Golf Club

BPM, along with contractors, consultants, and the MGC board and management all came together for some well-earned kai and beers.

Marketing would have taken more photos but her hands were mostly otherwise occupied 🍔 🍻

A huge thank you to GM Doug Po***ck for putting on a good feed. It set the perfect tone for an afternoon that was as much about connection and reflection as it was celebration.

Wellington's going to love what's coming.

A big shout out to Building Institute Aotearoa for continuing to add value to the industry and supporting it's members at all stages of their career.

MentorMIX is a six month programme they're running from May to October - where a mentor helps someone early in their career build confidence, grow their network, and understand the industry. Such a cool idea.

They just had their kick off event last week, where DB took on the role of Mentor!

We’re looking forward to hearing and sharing more from MentorMIX 26... 👀
