Just under a week till Father's Day! On the weekend as well as our Winter menu we will also be having a Sunday roast with all the trimmings which will be available for lunch & dinner on the Sunday itself. So what better time to treat all those special dads and father figures. All fathers who dine with us on Father's Day itself will also receive a surprise complimentary gift from Tirohana Estate!

If you can't make it and want to treat that someone special to something special, we also have our online shop where you can purchase a personalised gift voucher or wine to be delivered straight to your door.

We are open every day for wine tasting in our Cellar Door, as well as lunch, high tea and all day dining, dinners (bookings recommended) and group bookings and functions.

We have just about finished our pruning and soon, the buds will burst heralding the start of the vines growing, and the vineyard will gradually grow with the miracle of Mother Nature, before becoming full and leafy green once more.

We are delighted that the golden couple of Australian classical music will be showcased at this very special event in the Martinborough Music Festival 2026!

Slava and Sharon Grigoryan perform at Tea for 10 at Tirohana Estate in our Grand Marquee on Friday 25th September at 3pm. Slava is a renowned guitar virtuoso, while Sharon is an acclaimed cellist.

Known for their warm, expressive performances, the Grigoryans bring together music from different cultures, generations and styles. Their program includes well-known works for guitar and cello, alongside contemporary music, and fresh arrangements of familiar favourites.

They will perform at the beginning of the event, followed by a delicious light Tirohana high tea. Beverages are not included but a wide selection of drinks is available to choose from on the day. You can sample from our range of Tirohana wine, enjoy a cocktail or mocktail, a cup of tea or coffee, beer, spirits or soft drinks — whatever you prefer!'

At Tirohana Estate in Martinborough, we are proud of our beautiful vineyard and award-winning boutique/artisan wines, which are available exclusively through our Cellar Door and in our Restaurant (open 7 days a week), as well as on our online shop at www.tirohanaestate.com !

There’s always so much to enjoy in Martinborough and the only problem is what to choose! Is it red wine? - or white? - (or both :) ) from our range of award-winning premium heritage vines… deciding what to have from the menu over lunch or dinner.. or choosing high tea… or even choosing when to stay over with friends or family to share some fabulous accommodation packages.

The team at Tirohana were pruning this August and there was a ‘double rainbow’ which we took a photo of. There may not be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow/s but there certainly is the ‘Golden Mile’ where we’re located, with its incredible soil, drainage and conditions, which is so ideal for producing Martinborough’s renowned premium quality wines.

We are open 7 days per week for lunch, dinner, all day dining and high tea (bookings recommended). Our complimentary Tirohana shuttle pick up and drop-off is available if you are staying locally so no need to find a parking space, or even drive at all!

Our Cellar Door is also open each day where you can sample handmade boutique wines, each of them unique, including several vintages and styles of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rose, Dessert wine, and so much more!

We’re looking forward to our growing season kicking in this September onwards and it is so amazing to see the miracle of Mother Nature at work with the vines growing and changing over the growing season, on their way to grapes then vintage in March/April.

Our winter two-course Sunday Roast lunch special this Sun is a succulent Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding, with apple crumble for dessert, all for $49pp. We have other options available too for lunch from our winter menu. Our Sunday Roast changes each week so why not roast yourself by the fire with a delicious roast!

We had a magical time recently hosting our MidWinter Christmas in June & July. And speaking of Christmas, we're taking reservations for Christmas functions and group bookings towards the end of the year, so if you're looking for a Christmas event around Nov/Dec for a group of friends/family, or a corporate event, please contact the team to discuss our available packages (we can host groups large and small, including in our Grand Marquee nestled in the vines which is a perfect setting in the summer).

As much as we love the cozy atmosphere by the fireplace, Spring and Summer is fast approaching. And this is the time of year where Martinborough really shines. We have lots of packages available, including accommodation packages and more.

It's just under a week now until Mid-Winter Christmas in July returns to Martinborough at Tirohana Estate (Friday 24th - Sunday 26th) for a Christmas themed Lunch & Dinner. This is one of our favourite Winter highlights. We love to make the most of the cozy weather by decorating the restaurant festively, with evocative music and atmosphere, and the kitchen team has been hard at work preparing the festive menu. This is a very popular event, so make sure to book now to secure a table!

If you're visiting Martinborough and can't bear to leave, why not stay at the Tirohana Colonial House! This is our lovely on-site vinestay accommodation which is a fantastic cozy scenic getaway. We have lots of packages available for various needs, big or small, whether you're looking for a quiet intimate break, or a group booking like a girl's weekend away. We hope everybody is keeping warm and dry during this rainy winter. It's certainly been a rocky few weeks weather-wise, but it makes us all the more grateful for the beauty and peace of Mother Nature when calmer weather returns.

We're looking forward to Matariki this week and hope it will be a clear night to observe the stars. Guests having dinner at Tirohana are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the view above (weather depending of course :) ). Like always, there will be no surcharge at Tirohana Estate.

It was our honour to recently host the Porsche Club and to see so many beautiful cars in the beautiful landscape of Tirohana and Martinborough.

Our Mid-Winter Christmas is returning in July (24th, 25th, 26th)! The restaurant will transform into a Winter Wonderland, with festive decorations and music. Our kitchen team has prepared a lovely exclusive menu for Lunch and Dinner featuring classic traditional faire, as well as options from our regular menu. It's a fantastic event that we always enjoy hosting, and we do recommend booking early to secure a reservation as it's a highly popular event.

Unfortunately the rainy weather has temporarily at times impacted road access to and from Martinborough, however there are still thankfully still ways to get to the village which you can find and we would recommend checking the South Wairarapa District Council resources for the road updates : https://swdc.govt.nz/road-alerts/ and https://www.facebook.com/SouthWairarapaDistrictCouncil

It's June 25th so It's just 6 months till Christmas - but why wait when Mid-Winter Christmas is almost here in Martinborough! This weekend, Tirohana will be transformed into a winter wonderland with Christmas decorations and music, along with our Lunch and Dinner menus offering iconic festive options, also regular menu choices. Mid-Winter Christmas is a popular annual event at Tirohana Estate and as well as running this Friday 26, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June, the event will be returning in July (Friday 24th, Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th).

There's lots going on throughout the winter season. We have some fabulous new wines to try including our Pinot Noir 'Grace', Pinot Noir Special Reserve 'Legend', Rose, Sav Blanc, Pinot Gris, dessert wine and more!

The Tirohana High Tea is a fantastic option available 7 days per week for guests craving something lighter. This includes a tantalizing selection of savory and sweet treats, as well as scones with jam and cream. It's a great choice for enjoying by the warmth of the roaring fireplace or potbelly stove, along with a glass (or bottle) of wine!

The Sunday roast is available once again every Sunday with all the trimmings. This is available for Sunday lunch on a fixed-price $49 three course menu that also includes soup to start and apple crumble with custard for dessert!

Our Cellar Door and Emporium Gift Shop is also open 7 days a week for tastings, purchases and shopping.

The Tirohana Colonial House is in a beautiful idyllic location to enjoy the peaceful solitude and picturesque wintry scenery. There’s much to do and look forward to in Martinborough this June and July!

Our vineyard restaurant now has its seasonally changing winter menus available for a cozy Lunch or Dinner, with lots to choose from (and includes our complimentary pick-up and drop-off at night in our Tirohana shuttle van if you’re staying locally in Martinborough, so need to drive - or even find a parking space :) ). Special dietary options are available.

By popular demand, our traditional Tirohana Sunday Roast returns this winter every Sunday! This is a set menu offering a rustic Soup of the Day, the Sunday Roast itself, and a dessert (apple crumble) all for a special price of $49. Bookings are recommended. So why not roast yourself by the warmth of the fire and tuck into a roast each Sunday? There’s lots of other choices too with our ‘regular’ winter Lunch menu also available. The first Sunday Roast in June is a succulent Roast Pork.

We also have all day dining options available every day, including our Tirohana High Tea.

In celebration of the solstice and midwinter, we are holding our Mid-Winter Christmas themed Lunch and Dinner events this June & July on the following dates:

Enjoy the sparkling fairy lights, Christmas trees, decorations, evocative music, mulled wine, and festive food by the warmth of the fire. A wonderful lunch or dinner for a couple or a group, this annual Tirohana institution is something you won't want to miss. And, if you're feeling particularly festive, feel free to dress festively to suit the occasion - we'll be running a prize-draw competition (for fun) for everyone who submits a Midwinter Christmas photo from one of this year’s events, on our Tirohana social media pages.

The menu has other options for those not wanting to indulge in the festive fare.

We are taking bookings for Matariki weekend this year which falls on Fri 10th July to Sun 12th July. On the day itself and over the holiday weekend, we will be celebrating Matariki with its themes of celebrating life, connecting with whanau and honouring our ancestors and those who have gone before.

The stars in Martinborough are so beautiful with the Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve. Clients will be welcome to sit outside after their dinners and observe the stars (subject to the weather of course :) ), perhaps with your choice of wine, liqueurs, cocktails or a cozy hot chocolate? As always at Tirohana, there will be no public holiday surcharge.

Our Cellar Door is open 7 days per week for wine tasting and the Tirohana team love to have a chat about what goes into each bottle and the story of each wine and vintage. Our Emporium shop is also open with a range of gifts and estate-made produce such as Pinot Noir wine jelly.
