The 2022 release of the updated National Seismic Hazard Model has set in motion a wave of potential changes for New Zealand’s building standards. With a revised NZ Standard for seismic loading (Technical Specification 1170.5) on the horizon, building owners and tenants alike will soon face new challenges.

⭐ What does this mean for you? ⭐ Expect more stringent requirements for earthquake resilience, particularly for existing buildings. This shift may lead to disputes around building ratings and rising costs for landlords who have already made upgrades.

At TwentyTwo, we understand the growing complexities of seismic standards and the balance between risk management and long-term investment. Staying informed and proactive is key to navigating this evolving landscape.

👇 Read more in Paul Mautz's blog and explore how these changes will affect the property landscape and what it might mean for you.

Just over 5 weeks to go before the 2024 CoreNet Global NZ Symposium! A refreshed format and a new venue are proving quite the drawcard!

We will be there serving up fresh barista coffee to all the attendees at our coffee cart and TwentyTwo's Kate Horton will be presenting on "Unlocking Aotearoa New Zealand's Potential."

Kate will be exploring how we might shape our environments based on the insights learned from the habitats that nurture the longest living people on earth. She will cover the workscape as it stands now and why our thinking needs to change; how we can challenge traditional location drivers and propose a new set of location drivers that are centred on people and communities, and explore what a lasting legacy for our communities looks like.

WHEN: August 15th 2024
WHERE: Q Theatre, Queen St, Auckland.

Visit the symposium website to find out more about all the speakers and sessions, and to grab your tickets.

Te reo Māori is not just a language, it's a living taonga (treasure) that encapsulates the history, culture and identity of the Māori people. Together, we can ensure that this beautiful language continues to thrive, enriching the lives of all New Zealanders. Kia manahau (enjoy)!
