Join the 24-Hour Round-the-World Conversation to Celebrate World Futures Day, Hosted by the Millennium Project
https://lnkd.in/gSy2KARb Everyone is welcome!
Beginning on March 1 in New Zealand at 12 noon NZ time, the open conversation on how to build a better future will move west each hour. Anyone can join in at 12 noon their time and join futurists and others to explore possibilities for our common future.
Jerome Glenn, CEO of The Millennium Project says. "People drop in and out as they like. If they can't come online at 12 noon their time, they are welcome at any time over the 24 hours. Anybody can pull up a cyber-chair at this global table and join the discussion"
StratEDGY's Stephanie Pride says 'as a professional futurist in Aotearoa it's really exciting to be facilitating the first hour and to be able to share some of the innovative futures initiatives underway in Aotearoa. We currently have a new and unique 'futures commitment device' being implemented, with all Public Service Departments undertaking their first ever Long-term Insights Briefings. At the same time, there are place-based, learning-oriented organic initiatives that are founded in the intergenerational and sustainable perspectives of Te Ao Māori.
When the kōrero (authentic conversation) starts in Aotearoa New Zealand, people joining the conversation include members of the Ōtautahi Futures Collective including Cheryl Doig, Hafsa Ahmed and Ben Reed, as well as some of the people instrumental in creating the Long-term Insights Briefings, Jonathan Boston, Professor of Public Policy in the School of Government, VUW, author of Governing for the Future: Designing Democratic Institutions for a Better Tomorrow, and Diane Owenga, Head of The Policy Project in New Zealand's Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
In a time when it is becoming clearer that all futures are uncertain, I hope you will join us to engage in kōrero about how we build the capability to shape better futures for planet and people
