Big changes for Aro Valley!
More housing? More heritage protection?
Join us at AVCC for a discussion about the ins and outs of the Draft Spatial Plan which will be the leading document in shaping Wellington City for the future.
As well as proposed changes to building heights and density, pre-1930s character protection settings, and central city zoning, the Draft Spatial Plan looks at guidelines to protect areas supporting the special biodiversity of our city. These areas include a mix of both public and private land.

Kia Ora Share Shack whanau.
Due to the closure over rahui, the Share Shack is being removed tomorrow.
Its a sad time, but its not the end for the Share Shack!
Roxy and Dani are working hard to get ShareShack 2.0 back up and running, and will have it open again for trading ASAP, in a new, more permanent home.
Until then, please continue to REDUCE REUSE REPAIR and RECYCLE what you can to keep as much waste as possible from landfills - If you need suggestions on good places locally to donate check out the comments below =)

Hey folks of Aro, since the Shareshack is closed for the time being, we're hosting a clothes swap at the community hall on Sunday 21st of June, 6pm until 9pm, come have a yarn and swap some yarns!

Kia Ora Share Shack whanau,
As you know, during the nationwide rahui the Share Shack had to be closed, and must remain closed until govt restrictions are removed. We are trying to manaaki the Share Shack the best we can until we can open again, and are taking this time to make some improvements and changes but we need your help!

Please, hold onto your donations of clothing\goods for now, or consider donating to other spaces that are open, as we cannot process any of the donations that are piling up outside the Share Shack.

Here are some good alternatives for places to drop off or swap your clothing\goods donations:
Wholesome Goods Exchange Te Whanganui-a-tara
Aunty Dana's Op Shop
Opportunity for Animals
Women's Refuge New Zealand
Dress for Success Wellington
Or any other local Op shop

Hey hungry peepz and O-week students come down to the shareshack for fruit and bread, there's loads but it's going fast!

A space in Aro Valley where the community can share their unwanted goods and food and therefore minimize waste going to landfill, while making food and items more accessible to all - for free.

SHARE SHACK doesn't take:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Ripped/ Broken articles
- Cardboard boxes
- Loose pieces of wood / firewood/ drift wood
- Unwashed clothes
- Expired food
- General rubbish

Hey everyone, we're looking for volunteers to help keep the Share Shack humming along. For anyone interested in volunteering or even just having a chat and giving feedback, we will be having a volunteer meet up tomorrow at 4.30pm at the Aro valley community hall.

We'd love to see some new faces, and hear about how we can make the shack better for everyone. Thanks all !

Can you help us? The community centre is looking for some good condition couches / armchairs - drop us a line if youve got something we can use that you no longer require!
