Brave the rain! Free E-waste drop-off, today only!

We’re celebrating International E-Waste Day by waiving all fees today, to help our community do the right thing with unwanted electronics.

TVs, monitors, printers, heaters—working or not, bring them in to Te Aro Zero Waste.

Did you know that about 97,000 tonnes of E-waste ends up in our landfills every year? When we collect your unwanted tech, it gets separated for reuse and recycling instead.

1990s tech releases for every year of the decade 👾

All these vintage electronics have been donated in store and some are still available for purchase (check out our trade me, link in bio). 💻

We accept all kinds of electronic donations instore! If it passes our reconditioning processes we’ll sell them on in store or on our trade me. If the items reached the end of its life, we’ll strip out the good bits and distribute them to our recycling partners. 🥳

You can visit us 10-4pm Wednesday to Saturday at 2 Forresters Lane, Te Aro, Te Whanganui a Tara. There’s even parking right out side. ♻️

Over the weekend we had Just Sew, our monthly textile repair and skill share event. Here’s a few shots from the afternoon. 🪡

Our talented volunteers darned, patched and mended items bought in by people seeking an alternative to throwing away their damaged clothes. This supports TAZW’s effort to keep useful things in circulation for longer and reduce unnecessary waste in our landfills. ♻️

If you have textiles in need of repair but missed out this time, don’t worry we host Just Sew on the first Saturday of every month. Our next session will be October 3rd and bookings should be live on our website next week. If you’re on a budget you can still come along, we charge koha meaning you pay what you can and what the service is worth to you. 🧵

Come snap up a bargain on fabric and supplies; all proceeds go to supporting the Wellington Curtain Bank, who provide upcycled curtains to whānau living with low-income.
