I am driving down Pitt St. Near the bottom there is a male student on an electric scooter. It is raining heavily. He is laughing. Then he brakes when on the white line and comes off directly in front of me
I have a bull bar, winch on the front of my Toyota Hilux and a bash plate underneath it. Initially I had nowhere else to go but over the top of him as he slid to a stop Fortunately his momentum had carried him just far enough past the last parked car, and I was able to narrowly avoid running over the top of him

On the subject of the recovery of our local economy after the lock down ends I have written to McKinlay Footwear manufacturing of "South D" and asked them to tell me how much they would have to charge for a pair of locally manufactured safety boots with the given we have the hospital project already commenced Now we also need to get the N Z Labour Party's Candidate for Dunedin North and current Minister of Health David Clark to commit all the funds necessary to complete the project

“For the attention of Building and Civil Engineering Main and Sub contractors as a result of the Government directed Lock Down

I understand a large percentage of the current construction contracts use for example the New Zealand Standard, “NZS 3910:2013 Conditions of Contract for Building and Construction”

This Standard provides protection for main contractor who obtains a letter from the client advising them that as the client he is suspending the contract, using the above example NZ Standard, under the clauses 6.7.1 of the General Conditions of Contract. This enables the main contractor to claim a variation to the contract with appropriate monetary terms
Sub-contractors should be reading their contracts closely as well. Additionally, they should be seeking formal confirmation from the main contractors that the contract you have been working on has in fact been suspended

Evening With the advent of this virus followed by the lock down and the cessation of work on untold construction contracts I believe we need to commence having discussions from all parties to prevent construction disputes with the resultant cash flow uncertainty. So lets have the discussion which should include banks, clients, consultants, main contractors, sub contractors and material suppliers etc with input from all please Lets go then
