At our last meeting we had the pleasure of hearing from Jared Torrington, a Building Inspector (LBP) from CheckHome Building Inspections as our 10 minute speaker.
Jared shared a great presentation explaining exactly what Check Home covers and, more importantly, why it matters. He’s there to help buyers, vendors preparing their homes for sale, investors, sales agents, banks and insurance companies understand what may be sitting beneath the surface of a property.
His passion for doing the job properly comes from his own family’s experience. His parents purchased what turned into a nightmare home, with years of poor workmanship and issues that had been covered up by different trades along the way. That experience left Jared with a pretty simple philosophy: do the job once, and do it right.
After many years in the building industry, Jared has taken that knowledge into the inspection space, helping people better understand the homes they’re buying, selling, renovating or investing in.
Check Home also takes the quality of its inspections and healthy homes assessments seriously. They only use qualified builders, with a robust probationary period for new inspectors. During their initial stages, every report completed is reviewed to ensure the standard of work remains high.
