Kia ora tātau

Te Tuinga Maehe lunchtime speaker Dr Petera Hudson led an enthusiastic and AI curious audience today.

With Emeritus Prof. Graham Hinengaroa Smith introducing, our small group took advantage of the intimate setting to join in the AI conversation offered by Dr Petera Hudson.

While Manaakitanga, Mana Motuhake was the lens through which Dr Hudson presented there was general agreement that a collective Màori approach to AI use and education was still possible.

He mihi ki a Takuta Petera Hudson hei
" Whaia te iti Kahurangi."

TOITU! Art exhibition began at HIVE with a karakia by Jasmin Ratana, launching a celebration for Madalyn Waitai, emerging visual artist supported by works of master weaver Trina Taurua raranga and a Te Awa Tupua photo essay by film producer/director Whetū Fala.

TOITU! Attracted a fair number of artists and whanau to the morning opening. " I was nervous! " says Waitai " I never really thought it would happen." With her kuia Madalyn Waitai on hand to give a 1995 Pākaitore eye witness account for the work " Tamara " along with Paraikete o Whanganui mentors Cherryl Smith, Sandy Nepia in the audience, the celebrations lasted well into midday. So what could be next for TOITŪ! Cherryl replied "We'll have to think about going to Waitangi to see Frances and Paraikete Whero!"

Thanks to all sponsors Te Manu Atatū Whanganui Māori Business Network, Paraikete o Whanganui, Fala Media, Hive.
