A fantastic session this morning, with our very own Aimee Perrett presenting.

Aimée Perrett Coaching spoke to us this morning about “The Power of a Growth Mindset – Unlocking Your Potential”, with a message that was particularly relevant for anyone running a business.

One of the key takeaways was that a growth mindset isn’t about being relentlessly positive or pretending challenges don’t exist. It’s about remaining open to the possibility that we can learn, adapt and find a way forward, even when we don’t yet know what that way looks like.

Aimee also talked about what happens when pressure builds. Stress can narrow our thinking, taking us from “What else could work?” to “There’s no way” or “I’ve tried everything.” For business owners in particular, that was a pretty relatable message!

Her practical advice was simple:

👉 NOTICE – recognise when your thinking has become absolute.
👉 NAME – acknowledge that you’re under pressure, not incapable.
👉 NARROW – instead of trying to solve everything, ask: “What is one small way forward?”

A great reminder that progress doesn’t always require a massive breakthrough. Sometimes it starts with making one phone call, asking one person, gathering one piece of information or simply looking at the problem from a different angle.

Thanks Aimee for a thought-provoking and practical presentation, and for giving the FBI crew plenty to think about.
