Covid has messed us up a bit, even though we are In Level 2 and most riding facilities are open we aren't able to run properly till Level 1, due to the close contact between instructor and client with how we run our lessons. Once Level 1 begins i will get in contact with everyone regarding make-up lessons.

A little bit about me,
My name is Cassandra Clark I have been riding on and off for over 11 years. I have my certifications and mental health support through equine therapy and also physical disability support. I worked at the hospital in mental health for a year.
I ride for the Paraequestrian team NZ, Competing in dressage. I absolutely love working with children helping teach them to grow learn, and understands animals animals therapeutic and loving way. I grew up on a farm and we moved down to the city when I was 9. moving back up to Whangarei two years ago has allowed me to achieve my dreams and open my own riding school to help kids build the confidence I got when I was that age. I have a german short haired point and a very happy goat.

We are back and the term has started ! Pretty full over the next week so if anyone wants lessons from the 12 of July let me know ASAP and we can fit you in. This term will be based ground work,emotional connections and the basics. We also will have programs for my kids with autism,adhd and other disabilities with a certified in autism brain function, equine calming techniques and teach lessons( if you want more details about the different sessions for a love one with different disabilities have a look on our page)
We cater to everything you wish to receive during your lesson. Ranging from 3 years old right to adults.

The purpose of Head High Connections is to provide a service to people with learning disabilities, mental health, AHD, Autism.
Horses know how you feel! They are able to sense how we are feeling.
This one client at at a time to give the client full attention.

We conduct our lessons to fit any personal needs. We have clients of all ages. I have my certification in
“Childhood Trauma, Childhood stuttering”
“Special needs riding Instructor”
“Speaking to your horse and bonding experience learning mindfulness with horses.
“Assisted equine therapy trauma, dissociation, and psychosis”

For the first couple of sessions, it is more connection-based, the more you connect with your horse the more understanding you have with them the more effective it is.

Our goal is to work with children and adults with difficulties communicating with others. I have my certification in "Equine assisted therapy". I also have a certification Autism, ADHD, and Educational disabilities (including anxiety and depression)

I have worked within the youth Mental Health sector, so i have more of a hands on technique, while using tools that are used within the Mental Health programs
We also offer riding sessions once a bond has been made with the horse - under complete supervision.
Horses have been proven to be relaxing and calming. I have had many success stories of young children who struggle to communicate learn to trust and tend to talk to the horses, which often leads to communication barriers being broken.
