Four blades in completion! These are my designs for skinning blades known as "Scouts". These can also make good bird and trout blades or even be used for culinary purposes. Materials are 15n20 Nickel (high carbon) Steel blade with Rimu timber on the handles and Aluminium pins. These are hand made knives and are up for grabs at $180 each (with shipping/postage to be arranged. I can also ship overseas). Please, message the page if you are interested!

And a final note. A big thank you to my Brother, (Brendon) for giving me a hand to get these finished!

Latest piece here with 15n20 nickel steel. Slightly hybrids between a fillet knife and a boning knife. Timber is Jarrah wood and the pins are Brass. This piece will be off to a good home very soon! Quite happy with this one, the finish isn't quite where I wanted it to be, but it's tidy enough. And the timber looks excellent in the right lighting.

Long time... No post! See my latest piece made. Not 100% sure on the timber here but I think it is Red Oak. Very tough stuff! Steel is 15n20 high carbon which while not a stainless variety, the nickel in the steel can help fight rust to a degree. Typical Aluminum pins in the handle. Made as a commission for a bloke who still does things the old way. Hopefully this will help with the Sheep, mate! Bok Nai, brother!

Had a challenge on this project! First rendition snapped (eesh!). But I finally got something completed before the deadline! Something a bit different here in the form of a Fillet knife, used Jarrah timber on the handle. A very nice, dark toned timber! It popped well with the blue liner too. Beautiful to look at, and work with which was great. Another difference is the use of Steel. Using Sandvik steel due to "snappage"... A form of stainless different to the usual Nitro-V variant I use (which snapped on me in the 1st pic). It had some challenges in itself being an unfamiliar Steel, but alas a Fillet knife was born! Cheers Kaleb for helping me out by the way. Owe ya one, bro!

I had the pleasure of making this Deer Hunting Knife for a recipient who was having their 21st this past weekend gone. Doing commissions like this one is really awesome... I have been informed by the customer who ordered it that it was well received which is one of the best things about making custom work. This was styled on a Buck 119. But of course, I went more towards my style in construction and flirted with some new techniques. The first attempt I had, the blade failed to harden (which was super unfortunate). But I learned my lesson, and here is a much better, hardened blade from Nitro V steel with Brass bolsters on top and bottom of the handle and some Green Swamp Kauri sandwiched between them - all held with Brass Pins. Bolsters on the first blade were aluminium which didn't quite sit well, so I opted for Brass and double pinned it to make sure it stayed. Almost managed to hide the pins on a couple of spots too which was cool!

Hey guys! Just wanted to share a post of an amazing craftsman that I know. And, he is someone who has helped me a lot along my journey of what I do. Some of the Knives I have made have used the same Swamp Kauri timber that he has sourced for his products. If you're not familiar with this guy, then... introducing to you: Work by Grahame at Heirloom Boxes. Check his page out, give him a like or follow, he has some really amazing pieces for sale too!

I tried something new on this knife. Usually I don't do bulky handles... But I gave this one a try and it came out pretty good! Made from the ole Saw Mill blade! Such a great old steel to work with. Swamp Kauri on the handle with Brass Pins too gives it a more rustic vibe.
